This facility met all our needs as a large family needing a gathering place that would fit us all for Christmas. What better Christmas setting than a large ranch house on an actual working ranch! What we learned though, was this was not just an ordinary ranch. It not only supports a family, but a large purpose of the ranch is a non-profit effort to provide help and support to veterans and their families, as well as to families of individuals in law enforcement who have lost their lives or suffered other traumatizing evens in the line of duty. During certain months of the year, the facilities are not used for VRBO guests, but to house these families free of charge, while they work through several of the issues and challenges they face in a therapeutic manner while working together around the horses and other animalsI had the great opportunity to meet and talk to John, the veteran who bought and started the ranch for this purpose eight years ago. His family has made this place into something special, with more great plans for the future. What an honor it was to accompany him with a couple of my grandchildren to feed the livestock and do some other small chores while he explained about the things they are doing there to make a difference in peoples lives who have given so much our country.. We loved our stay and hope we can come again some time.
