We really enjoyed staying at the The Whaling Station. It is a very safe and protected area with convenient parking. We liked the walk to the lagoon and being personally welcomed by Kasia who gave us excellent recommendations.

Superlative and ultimate calm resting place for those whio need a base in Pleetenberg region, just off N2 en route to Tstiskama. Excellent clean facilities- swimming pool, kitchen, lounge, bbq and of course rooms. The view over the bay is beautiful and has its own private walkway to the lagoon. Its located within a secure enclosed golf course. However the icing on the cake is the owner Kasia, who shows unbelievable kindness, care and attention, as she ensures you arrive safely and then will advise you on all things local depending on your needs and requests. She subsequently regularly checks in with you to make sure your trip is hassle free. So strongly recommend you stay here you wint be disappointed.

Enjoyable Stay

Great stay and accommodation. Warm welcome and helped with bags by Stonard. Within secure golf complex but away from golf course. Great views to Plett especially from the pool area. Stayed in a rondavel which was different and had peaceful sleep. Good filling breakfast with attentive service from the staff. Would stay again.

Beautiful B&B and excelent location and views.

Close to Plettenberg (you need a car for transport) and accesible to different attractions (The Crags, Plett beaches).

The Whaling station has a perfect location, the staff are helpful and friendly. The managers are always available to help. The walk to the lagoon is a perfect way to start the day. The Whaling station is close to the centre of town, Old Nick village is down the road and everything feels very safe and secure.

Schöne Aussicht, Anlage aber in die Jahre gekommen

Die Lage, die Aussicht waren top! Wir haben hier drei Tage verbracht. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig. Allerdings merkt man der Einrichtung an, dass sie schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel hat. Leider können wir das Frühstück überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Im Vergleich zu anderen Häusern entlang der Garden Route war es enttäuschend! Angelika und Mario

A very nice b and b, with very nice hosts. Situated within a golf club so not walking distance to town and restaurants. Besides that, a nice place!
