has always been amazing. We have been going there since it was the Royal. The staff is the Best- they all go the extra mile to make a difference in your stay. The accommodations are so comfortable and the food is delicious. We prefer to eat at the resort and crave the food even after we've gone home. The entertainment is exceptional. The pool is such a fun place to be as well. The pool activities guys are so much fun- I'm usually at the pool for a mellow day, but these guys- especially PePe- will get you dancing and having the time of your life.

Best Vacation Spot in Playa Del Carmen

My vacation to Playa Del Carmen was better than I ever imagined! The resort and rooms were beautiful. The staff was courteous and provided great service. I appreciated that they all spoke English and were always so happy to help. My friends and I decided to stay here because of the location, only adults and the foam party! We had watched several videos on social media about the foam party and it looked like the perfect place to celebrate his birthday! The entertainment staff is amazing. They got the party going, especially Daniel M. Daniel was a lot of fun and helped with several activities. He led the conga line in the foam party and I Loved it! Based on my unforgettable experience, I highly recommend this resort and plan to visit again in the future!

This is our second time at this resort. It is beautiful and the location is perfect. Unfortunately we were not too thrilled with the service from some of the amenities, specifically from the younger staff. Our experience with them was that they were too busy chatting it up with other younger staff, or on their phone. One example, we ordered a treat from the cafe along with a beverage. We received the beverage and waited for the sandwiches. The female stepped away to meet with a fellow colleague and completely forget about us. She realized that she forgot to get us our snack as we walked out of the cafe. We waited for about 10 minutes. The worse part was that when we ordered, I waited for a couple of minutes at the counter, and, she stated it is going to be a minute so I went to go sit down. We experienced similar situations at some of the bars and restaurants. When we would order, the waiters at times would forget and we would have to remind them about the missing food or beverages. This happened too often. Lastly the age of the property was showing with several deteriorating features in the rooms and in the common areas.

The pool and all hotel staff was great! The room smelled like mildew and at times it smelled like something rotten coming out of the vents. The food at any of the restaurants wasn’t great at all. The beach and ocean was so DISGUSTING!!! We weren’t able to go to the beach one time. The seaweed was so bad and the smell was unbearable!!!! We left feeling like we didn’t get a beach vacation at all. Before booking the trip it should give warning to the condition of the ocean and beach area. We were there for the 4th of July and they sold an extra dinner for $120pp that was supposed to be some really nice dinner and show. It was a complete ripoff! The food was horrible and the show was not great. We stayed at Hyatt Zilara in Cancun 2yrs ago for the 4th of July and they had an extraordinary dinner and show at no extra cost. I do not know why they would charge so much at Hyatt Vivid. Overall we were extremely disappointed.

Overall not at all what I expected from a Hyatt property. Very annoying in the sense of you’re always being sold something at an all inclusive resort, from a more expensive bed by the pool to a spa package or STEAK!!Yes there’s NO STEAK INCLUDED!!the first day we got there our friends waited about an hour after 3:00pm to finally receive their room, so they stayed in ours in the mean time. After having some fish tacos a friend of ours felt a little nauseous and ended up puking on a rug and couch, while waiting for room service we used a towel to start cleaning her. (Not blaming their food, It was a long flight, it was hot, things happen)We requested a new room.. but first they came in and cleaned the vomit (cleaning lady took about 5 mins to get that done) - they moved us to a new room in about an hour. At check out they proceed to tell me I owe them a cleaning fee and they will deep clean the room with that money.. MIND YOU WE HAD A NEW ROOM FOR 5 DAYS. AND SOMONE ELSE HAD ALREADY TAKEN THE OTHER ROOM. SO THOSE PEOPLE WERE IN A ROOM THAT SUPPOSEDLY WAS NOT CLEAN BASED ON THIS HOTELS STANDARDS. WHAT A SCAMM! It smells like NYC sewage,no a/c in lobby we payed for upgraded ocean view room, when I told the front desk it wasn’t ocean view (Mayel) told me lean over the balcony you’ll see the ocean! Ridiculous. We got a spa package at check in, my masseuse started falling asleep towards the end of the service. There are raccoons roaming wildly at night on the property on every floor

Beautiful resort with very nice staff. The only downside is they stop serving alcohol at 10, restaurants close at 10 as well.

The only problem was the seaweed in the ocean. We could not go into the ocean. That made me sad because I live in Las Vegas, the desert and wanted to swim in the ocean.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt the staff was very helpful & respectful everything was wonderful. They could use another smoking area they only had one & it was only 2 sitting benches which made it hard for all the smokers that was at resort. That's just a smokers point of view besides that our trip was absolutely wonderful.
