great spot

Very nice hotel, bright and modern. The staff is friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was lovely, great wine and the food was fresh and delicious. The pool area is beautiful. Mario the concierge was wonderful, helping organize my mother and handicapped sister. This is my new go-to hotel in Playa

Clean & convenient

This was my second time staying here. I like the location, cleanliness and amenities of the property. Check in was a breeze, staff is always friendly and the rooms are always clean, which to me is of the upmost importance. Usually would rank this higher but a couple things: - Music at the pool didn't fit the vibe. Was mostly 80/90/00's and played at a volume almost loudly obnoxious. I feel like it didn't align with the Aloft brand at all - Woke up on several mornings to the fire alarm going off. And it was early - 7 or 7:30am for several minutes before being disarmed. Was not pleasant. Not sure if this was testing or just because - Situated in a room that was opposite the courtyard, facing a building under construction. Working being done and it was unpleasant Like I said previously, the things I didn't like are fixable, so would reconsider another stay but would need to ensure that the above were dealt with before.

This review is a struggle because there were both big pros and cons. The pros are the location is great, it’s a newer hotel with decent amenities, very clean, and the staff is wonderful. They were also very kind to my dog, and provided some goodies and a dog bed for his stay. My gripes are with the building itself. My first full day there, the AC for the building went out from 10a to 7:30p. I didn’t sleep there that night, because no one answered the phone to confirm that it was back on. The AC in my initial room struggled as well, and it took 3 days of my sweating inside the room before they would give me another room. The internet also went out one day, which isn’t good for remote work. They were accommodating even with the challenges. If you intend to spend most of your days out and about, and only sleep here, this would work great. Otherwise, consider the shortcomings.

Nice hotel well located a block from 5th Ave., the main street in Playa, but without the noice and bustle. Nice staff. Some details were lacking, though. We paid extra for a large balcony, and there was only one chair one it, making it useless for a couple. The large gym had only one weight machine, a leg press. Lots of dumbbells, but only one bench, so only one person at a time could use them. An all-in-one weight stack did nothing well, and again had no bench. When we checked in, we asked for two keys but we told they didn't have enough keys in the hotel for give more than one per room. Marriott doesn't have enough keys?
