Not what we are used at aloft
Where to start: we arrived 1 AM to the lobby by 34th street. Nobody was there, only to discover the real lobby is 1 floor up across a little plaza. There were no signs alerting guests. We arrived to a room with towels so old that were threads. The morning after, as we were rushing to an appointment, we discovered the safety box had no batteries. We had to wait 15 minutes and 2 phone call later for a lady to come and discover the box was not working. I had to stuff all my belongings in my back pack. They gave us a new room later on ( Jesus the front desk man was with a “ I don’t care” attitude). We had to go back, re-pack and move 2 doors down. The new room had a faulty safety box, cracked floor with exposed nails. That night we ate in the room and some crumbles fell to the floor. I picked as many as I could and used my hand to group them at the edge of the hall ( to avoid stepping on them in the middle of the night). Said crumbles stayed untouched after the room was “cleaned” the following day. Seems Aimbridge Latam Bajo ( operator of the hotel) is in the need of a good manager with a basic checklist for hospitality.
