It was absolutely amazing our stay here! I wish we could stay longer! Clean, peaceful, great food, wine, olive oil! Great location 20 minutes drive from Siena, beautiful garden, great staff! Beautiful landscape! I wish it had a spa or a hot pool.
This was an awesome experience. To be able to stay in a former monastery that was hundreds of years old was a wonderful addition to our overall trip. While the beds aren't as comfortable as I am use to, the experience was worth the minor discomfort of the beds. The grounds are amazing, the chapel was so exquisite and the staff was wonderful.
Staff was very proficient in English for the most part, with excellent communication and professional in service through and through. Restaurant on site was elegant with good variety of menu items, though a little pricey as expected. Quality of food was above average but not excellent as expected. Drive to this monastery was fairly easy with surrounding village somewhat accommodating in amenities and conveniences. Keep in mind you would need a car throughout your stay here. Siena is 10 minutes away by car, a must see for at least one day.

One of the best travel experiences we have shared with our daughters (6 and 8)! The place is truly magical. Our daughters loved the property and the garden. It was absolutely beautiful. They felt like they were in an adventure. We stayed in an apartment that was 2 floors. It had 2 adjoining rooms on the second floor and one right outside the 2 main rooms. The bathroom was on the first floor. It had a kitchen and a family room.***The place was a little rugged.*** I emphasize this for American travelers who prefer 3/4/5 star hotels. There was only one bathroom. We lost electricity one night. The staff accommodated us to another room for the night with electricity. However, that room did not have a heater. It was so cold! The staff overall was friendly and attentive. However, we chose not to have our room cleaned during our stay and as a result, it was very hard to get toilet paper. Every time we would go to the main desk to get toilet paper, the staff would ask us questions. I would have to remind them that we opted not to have our room clean. The breakfast was amazing! They had honey and olive oil from La Certosa. It was so delicious. Pilar was incredible! The is very friendly and kind. La Certosa makes it own wine as well. I highly recommend. We attended the optional Christmas 7 course lunch. It was phenomenal. They accommodated my food allergies. We have dined at fine restaurants and this lunch was the best! Overall, we would stay here again. We absolutely loved it!
Outstanding personnel, phantastic cuisine, beautiful countryside, not very easy to navigate the walkways for disabled people

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Very old but beautiful place, a little scary because it is so old, clean, because the furniture is so old and dry it is not cofy . Friendly staff. Good breakfast but nothing exceptional. Worth the price. The only thing is if you have a lot of luggage or a very heavy suitcase do not choose the cella/room #1 suite because it has two large flights of stairs and the hotel obviously does not have an elevator.
I recommend it to have an experience and not to stay for several days
Great stay in late November. Views are breathtaking. Unusual rooms with a lot of history. Good breakfast. Dinner is rather on a high price end $250.00 for four. Be aware to use hot water wisely. It can end unexpectedly, and you will have to wait for 30 minutes for the heater to heat it up. Nice and helpful stuff. I would definitely come back and recommend to my friends.
This beautiful property has been the most wonderful overnight accommodation that we've had in our two week central Italy trip. It is obviously a labor of love in the restoration of the 600 year old monastery, local breakfast selections, wonderful reception staff, and attentive and delicious on site restaurant options. We thoroughly enjoyed having a modest room (clean, modern, simple) and then walking through the spacious buildings, grounds, olive groves and nearby vineyards. It was such a pleasant exploring adventure that we extended a couple extra days and used the property as a delightful hone base each evening. We highly recommend this hotel and hope to be back again next year!!
Great service, comfortable room, the breakfast buffet is really good, and the onsite restaurant is superb! The location is a bit isolated but after all it used to be a monastery, the building is beautiful! I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Chianti area!!!!!!!
What a gem! We were blown away by the grounds and facilities at this stay. Dinner was fabulous, the bar was making delicious craft cocktails, and breakfast had so many options everyone could find something wonderful. We stumbled upon a billiard room our last night there while wandering around the cloisters, and found it so charming. Beds were not the greatest, shower was small and leaky, but I would absolutely stay here again!
