Stay was great other than a couple minor issues. No thermostat in the room and no thermal control in the shower. Water was constantly changing from hot to cold as other people around us used their water.
Have stayed many times most have been very good experiences. This time to start with key card was not scanned properly. TV did not work in the room, then was told that nobody could come up right away. When I went down to the front desk was greeted with an attitude and explained that they could not fix the TV, and I knew that. Then, was told that maintenance would not be on the property until 8 or 9, and only until 11 o'clock at night. And I was trying to go out for the night. Ended up having to gather up everything in the room and change rooms and the front desk was again. Very rude to my guest, just not a good time at all.
There was no thermostat in my room. The shower head was nearly falling off. The beds were a bit uncomfortable. I could hear other people's televisions all night making it nearly impossible to sleep between that and the tram. Clean, yes. I didn't get a chance to see the pool. I wouldn't recommend staying for the price.
I enjoyed my stay at the San Carlos. I wanted to stay in an historic hotel. It was fun reading the information posted and looking at the artwork. The hotel also met the criteria for all hotels: clean, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed, good shower. The location was perfect. I could walk to the AMC theatre and restaurants. The train was outside the door. I will stay again.
While I get the property is dated, it seems no effort has been put into updating and making it comfortable/pleasant for guests.
The one restaurant with an entry inside the hotel Centrico, was closed for a private function which was quite frustrating as we wanted to enjoy a cocktail after attending the symphony.
The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable and noise from the light rail made the stay very unenjoyable. We checked out by 6:30 am.
Won't stay there again.
Great front desk!! Lovely and authentic old hotel with nice room amenities and a great bed. It was small and quiet, but there was no temperature control in the room besides a ceiling fan and we were too warm. Would stay again.
Asked for early check in, staff was very accommodating and rooms were extremely clean!

The staff was friendly and the price was cheap given the area. Just not much to say about it. We needed a place within walking distance from the conference center and this was the only place available under $1000. The rooms and furniture are quite outdated and the bed was not great. Its also in Pheonix. Very hot. I searched for a thermostat in my rooms and could not locate it. I asked the front desk and they said there are not individual thermostats in each room, just one for the entire hotel. A brisk 75 degrees at any given time. Also, waited on the shower to heat up for about 20 minutes before trying the cold side. They must have installed the hot and cold water backwards because the cold side heated up immediately. Moved to the Hilton next door as soon as a room opened. If you're looking for a cheap place to sleep after a night on the town, may be a decent option. Don't stay for multiple nights.

Terrible. Due to worse weather conditions in Flagstaff/Sedona, my sister and I suffered an accident. I called them to cancel due to medical emergencies and they outrightly denied. Moreover, I saw the reviews on Google. They are terrible. The lady at the reception told me "Well you booked via 3rd party (Expedia) and not via us, so we can't refund". Expedia denied to refund as well. I would never chose this Hotel and Expedia for booking as both of them are so insensitive to even the medical emergencies!
The walls were paper thin and so it was impossible to sleep. You heard everything. The peep hole on our door had a tissue stuffed in it to cover the whole. And the staff kept my ID which derailed my plans for the eveningz

Easy, safe 10-15 walk to the Convention Center. This is an older hotel that can use a little touch-up paint in the halls, but the rooms are clean and nice. The only complaint about the facility is the WiFi, which was unusable most of the time for me. There is no on-site parking, which they tell you in advance; just be prepared to walk around the block to park in a multi-story garage. No problems with the garage.
Does not meet the standard requirements of modern Hotel facility. No refridgerator or microwave in the room. Hotel does not provide a guaranty for safety and security of one's belongings while in the hotel. Noisy, etc
