For charm and access to history but also with modern amenities, this is a wonderful hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Next time I will arrive earlier so we can have dinner in the onsite restaurant. It's walkable to the museums and gardens and historical sites, and also to FringeArts in a different direction.
It was a last minute decision and so I went with it and 8n glad I did. Very beautiful and historic building.
Staff was amazing. Breakfast I had 2 blueberry muffins
And a coffee from their Continental breakfast.. perfect 100!;
Was there only for a night. TV only got one station and volume was low and could not be adjusted. Would have been nice to have a small refrigerator. View was not nice. Just side of the bridge and parking lot. Comforter had black smudge marks on it. Toilet roll dispenser was on the wall beside the toilet so you had to reach back blindly to use it. Trash can was under it so TP so it hung into the trash can. Room was small but sufficient. Overall was ok.
The parking is right next door and safe we had a flat tire and the attendant had a machine to pump it up for us! Penn’s View is a quaint old hotel right near all the tourist sites.
It was quiet and charming. I liked getting a coupon for the restaurant in the hotel, but I wish it'd been good for the hours I could actually go. Old but clean; curtains let in a lot of sun, so if you're looking for black-out, this may not be the place for you.
very kind staff, the room was so incredibly clean upon arrival, and the restaurant located inside is wonderful! will definitely come stay with them again.
The hotel is on the highway, so it is very loud all the time. There is no soundproofing

Nice room in a unique building.
Affordable for the area, but still a bit pricey
The water wasn’t very hot
They charged $20 extra to check in an hour earlier even though they said the room was ready.
Muffins and coffee in the morning was a nice surprise.
Located in a vibrant neighborhood with a ton of great places to eat. Otherwise, not much to recommend here. The room was average at best (small and plain, with a single tiny window facing a brick wall), but nowhere near worth the exorbitant weekend upcharge. The bathroom door did not close properly, the exhaust fan didn't work at all, and the entire building had an odd organic smell. Parking is outsourced to another company, and the employees there did not inspire confidence. Lots of better places to stay in Philly.
