The old Formartine and Buchan Railway Line Cycle Track can be accessed nearby with a network of paths joining towns all the way to either Fraserburgh, Peterhead or Ellon, with its hub at Maud Railway Museum 2 miles away. Maud was the main railway junction of the Buchan railway line.
