Nearby there is a chance to enjoy great coastal areas, beautiful harbour towns and rolling dune beaches. Experience the fishing and whisky distilling history of the north east of Scotland. Golf course, castles and country parks are all within easy travelling distance. The old Formartine and Buchan Railway Line Cycle Track can be accessed nearby with a network of paths joining towns all the way to either Fraserburgh, Peterhead or Ellon, with its hub at Maud Railway Museum 2 miles away. Maud was the main railway junction of the Buchan railway line.
