Good budget option in a great location. Room was clean and bed was comfy. If staying on a weekend keep in mind you will hear noise from the street at night. A lot of natural light enters the room too so if you’re not an early riser pack a sleep mask.

Sadly, the sound proofing wasn’t up to par. The music from the bar downstairs was very audible, and I couldn’t get to sleep until it stopped around midnight. The bed also felt uneven, almost like it was tilted sideways. If you’re looking for a good night’s sleep, bring earplugs or book elsewhere, is my recommendation.

The bathroom in the ensuite rooms are quite small and tight but are clean. if your a bigger person or have issues with small spaces it can feel quite constricting. Blinds do not keep sunlight out, my room was VERY bright at 540am. and my aircon switched off sometime in the night which I woke up very hot.There is only stairs so if you have mobility issues this is not suitable accommodation. My bed was quite hard yet my friends was not. it was close to the markets and a nice stroll to eateries and the beach.

I’ve just stayed for 3 nights in one of the queen rooms, room was clean and was serviced daily. Room little tired but I have no problem with that, aircon worked, nice shower pressure and toiletries provided. The noise though from the bar music is way too much, the Sunday night which was my first night was the loudest and it goes on nearly all night every night! Street noise can start from 4am, a secondary glazing on the windows might cut a lot of the noise down. The landing area outside the room has wooden door which was left open one night which let more noise into the building. Then to top it off on my last morning the waste cooking oil truck reversed into the carpark at 540am with reverse alarms blaring right below my room window. Outside the bathroom window and one of the windows there’s an outside light, this shines through the windows all night turning night into day. I’d suggest either turning the light off or using black out blinds on the windows in that area. Would I stay here again? I’d stay for a night but wouldn’t leave the bar until midnight then at least the music would have stopped, after 3 nights I’m shattered.

The room was clean and well equipped, on the smaller side but very good for price and had everything we needed, excellent location. The door to our room was not soundproof and we were disturbed by other guests talking outside our room, We had an ensuite but guests using the shared bathroom which was near our room were noisy and smoking. This is no fault of management just inconsiderate guests. Maybe some signage as a reminder might help.

The Norfolk is a nice place to stay, and the staff definitely look after you. The room is clean and the bathroom is very good. There were issues on this stay though. The room was very bright at night due to a light outside in the carpark area. While the blinds on that side of the room weren’t bad, the bathroom has no covering on the window available and was lit up very brightly. The bathroom door is glass so it also lit up the room. The blinds on the east side of the room didn’t have a string to adjust them so sunlight at dawn lit up the whole room. I have to admit, I was also annoyed by people in the carpark area (I assume they were workers but may not have been) talking from half past 5 in the morning.

Prior search on internet for a clean single room in Perth area near rail/bus. Booked Norfolk Hotel due a great rate. After 7 yrs high time to revist Fremantle Cafe strip. Traveled 50 minutes SCGH to Fremantle by bus in time for sunset near the station & Victoria Wharf. . Dusk deepened as I walked along South Street to the Hotel and I often paused to take a video of the varying vista. See them in my link. On arrival it was very busy in the restaurant-bar. Even so I was checked in surprisingly quickly by Jerry from the the bar. He gave me a card for a free drink on the house and a room key explaining how to do an early departure via the back exit. He then led me upstairs to my room and showed me where the shower/toilet room was - across the hall. On later examination I was really gobsmacked how it looked like one from a Top-of-the-line hotel. Very clean and tidy. I discovered they had a big cupboard full of cleaning items. After a brief unpack I went for a nosey downstairs again. I surveyed the menu briefly and it looked to offer a great selection of food and drink.Judging by the atmosphere and hub-bub everyone was enjoying themselves. In my room I had a very comfortable queen bed and mostly everything ele you would expect.
