Room was small, but comfortable. Watch your toes when youre in the washroom as there is a door stopper on the floor that would love to break one or two of them! Washroom is really small for a 4 star hotel. What interaction we had with staff was courteous and efficient.

The room was not properly clean, and both the pillows and duvet had an unpleasant smell. The lift was also very narrow, fitting only two people at a time, which was inconvenient.

The bed was like sleeping on cement. My friends and I agreed these were the worst beds in Europe and the UK. No amenities at this hotel. Rooms are Ok but overall very old hotel.

The bed was like sleeping on cement. It was unbearably hard. My friend in another room agreed. Doesn’t matter about anything else if you can’t actually sleep. I will never stay at a Paris Mercure again. Oh, I have slept on hard mattresses before in europe but this literally was unbearable and the hardest ever!
