We rarely give a rating of less than 5 stars, but we have to be honest here for the sake of other potential guests. The reasons for a 3 star rating are as follows:At check-in, rather than leaving the keys in a lockbox or other simple device, we had to text the person to meet us there and she insisted on taking a photo of my passport before giving me the keys. We were very uncomfortable about that. She also quickly pointed out a number of light switches that were beside the front door, half of which we were instructed to never use because that would disrupt the wifi, etc. Could this system somehow be better avoided than oral instructions? Be prepared to climb 100 steps or use a one-person lift. We were constantly killing tiny ants in the kitchen. The dishwasher “worked” but did not actually wash the dishes so we did our dishes by hand. The cutlery desperately needs to be updated/replaced. We had to rewash the only two coffee cups that were in the cupboard, but to be fair we did find two more in another random cupboard in our fifth day. The lamp in the bedroom is an antique and the plug is secured with duct tape. The night table is a stack of dining room extension boards that are stacked on one another and collapsed when we tried to plug in our phones behind it. If the host were to spend a few hundred Euros on a few simple updates, this apartment would be a good place to stay if you are looking for a location in the 3rd Arrondissement. It is about 10 minutes to the Metro.
