Negligent and UnsafeThere were significant problems with both check-in and check-out: Check-in: Several days before arriving I purchased a 1pm early check-in from the host Checkmyguest (CMG). When my family and I arrived at the key pick-up (a shop), CMG had not yet shared the code to pick up the key. We were left standing on the street for more than an hour after a transatlantic flight, with kids in tears. We later learned that the key was not delivered until after 2pm. The company did not apologize, and did not respond to requests for a refund of the fee paid for early check in. Check-out: The morning of the day before check-out, I communicated that I needed to leave at 9am, although the check-out instructions said to leave it at the shop—which did not open until 10am. I received no timely response to my communication—and hence decided to drop the key at the shop. After this, we were unable to lock the property front door, and had to sleep with it open. Both my wife and I were worried about our overnight security. CMV responded after 9pm that we could leave the key in the apartment—but this was too late. Amenities: When we arrived, the hot water was not working, and was not turned on until the second day. Neither the washing machine nor the television worked. The dish washer lacked detergent, so we had to wash dishes by hand.CMG treats its guests badly. It is indifferent or negligent to their comfort and their safety.
