Weaving deftly between a pared-back modernist style and splendid classical echoes, we love how this smart three-bedroom apartment refuses to pick a side. Located on the fringes of renowned urban oasis, the Bois de Boulogne, you'll have the upmarket 16th at your fingertips, with its celebrated museums, rich cafe culture, and some of Paris's swankiest architecture — need we say more?
LIVING ROOM
We're always in the mood for some old-time Parisian elegance and the living room has lashings of it. Ornate stuccoed walls, period feature fireplaces, and an expanse of parquet flooring bring the vintage aesthetic, whilst the paintings give us sense of strolling through a stately gallery. Slender, minimalist furniture and modern light fittings blend in a few well-placed shades of contemporary design.
KITCHEN & DINING ROOM
Who needs the Arc de Triomphe when you've got two beautifully sculpted archways leading you into dinner? The architectural glamour continues in the open-plan dining room, bathed in light through another modern addition Ca slick, industrial-style glass door. A large industrial-chic dining table offers ample space for six guests and the rather zany light feature above adds more of that signature modern style. Opposite is a little integrated kitchen, showcasing striking charcoal tones and sleek, modernist lines.
PRINCIPAL BEDROOM
The classical vein continues in here, with an arresting tapestry (that bedroom must-have we didn't know we needed) and marble fireplace. Fresh interiors, large windows, and that most welcome, lazy-mornings addition — a TV — are all there too. There's also a rather nifty curved desk, ideal for working from home.
FIRST BATHROOM
Boasting glossy, dark marble interiors, this bathroom features a walk-in shower, single wash basin, and WC.
SECOND BEDROOM
We love the steps up to the single bed, which is tucked into an alcove decorated with jazzy wallpaper. There's also a handy little desk and screen should you need a quiet spot to work.
