The Getaway is perfect for small to medium sized events. PLEASE CONTACT THE MANAGEMENT BEFORE BOOKING YOUR RESERVATION if you plan to be staging an event or party that will include additional guests other than ones registered as staying overnight. There is an extra fee to do so, and proof of event insurance will be required.

Large Mid-Century 5BRs (aprx 2700 sq ft) in quiet building located in the Spa Zone of Desert Hot Springs, CA. 5 Bedrooms (queen size beds), 5 baths, living rooms, dining areas and kitchens. Free off-street parking available.

This mid-century modern boutique hotel complex is comprised of 5 spacious, fully furnished apartments. Comfortable, stylish "homes away from home" nestled in the hills of Desert Hot Springs. All units have full kitchens, baths, central heat, A/C. Pool & hot tub on site*. Original mid-century details throughout. The open floor plans lend themselves to casual living.

*Pool heater – optional, additional $420.00 per week due before arrival. Hot tub heater – optional, additional $100.00 per 4-hour period due before arrival. Please inform The Getaway management at least 24 hours in advance if you would like the pool and/or hot tub heater activated during your stay.

Pet fee – optional, pets are allowed on a case by case basis. The pet fee is $25 per pet/per day. Cats are never allowed in any of the apartments.

Guests are provided with an Accidental Property Damage Protection insurance policy with each reservation. The policy protects guests from paying out of pocket for accidental damage to the property and furnishings. This allows guests to relax, knowing they are covered for accidental property damage. There is no additional charge for this insurance coverage.

There are video cameras for security purposes only in the exterior common areas (parking lot, pool deck/patio, the sides and back of complex).

All guests, including those booking their reservation through any third-party booking platform, must digitally sign a short term rental agreement upon booking. Otherwise, guests will not be granted access to the apartments and will be subject to the cancellation policy as stated. The agreement will be sent to guests by email once their reservation has been booked.

Travelers who cancel more than 14 days before the day of check-in are charged no cancellation fee and will receive a 100% refund, minus the credit card fee (approximately 3%). Travelers who cancel between 14 and 7 days before the day of check-in are charged 50% of the booking amount, plus the credit card fee (approximately 3%). Travelers who cancel 7 days or less before the day of check-in (including no-shows) are charged 100% of the booking amount. For cancelations anytime before the start date of a reservation 28 days or longer, The Getaway shall have the right to retain 50% of the rental amount, plus the credit card fee (approximately 3%).
There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and a DVD player is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a desk and a microwave, and housekeeping is provided on request.

Bridal/ Bachelorette weekend

Cute little place! We had a bachelorette/bridal weekend. One of the guest contacted Eric to setup decor early with out the bride to be knowing, it was a total surprise! We had a little issue with the hot tub not coming on but Eric easy to get a hold of & was quick to fix the issue. The decor and view was super awesome! We had a blast.

Cool retro vibes

Loved the retro look of the casitas. Solid view, above the action so it feels private for your group but not so far that it’s difficult to go out for dinner and drinks. A beautiful property and super fun space for our bachelorette weekend. All amenities are well stocked too. Owner was quick to respond. He does check on the outdoor cameras though, which felt a little odd at times. But I understand him wanting to make sure the property was well taken after.

Great 7 night stay in the desert

We traveled here the week between Christmas and new years and had a great stay. The weather was too cold to enjoy the pool, but the hot tub is very large and very hot, which definitely made up for it in the evenings. The decor of the property aspires to be mid-century and much of it seems authentic. The apartments are spacious and have anything you need for cooking and relaxing. The setup is really great for several couples to have their privacy and for everyone to gather. The internet worked well and this would probably also be a good site for a working getaway. Eric, the host was very responsive and had several tips about the area, things to do, and places to eat. It's about a 20 min drive to Palm Springs, but it is a bit closer to Joshua tree than any palm springs options. I would happily stay here again.

Getaway Friendsgiving Reunion

My friends and I (mid-30s) booked The Getaway (the full property) for Friendsgiving and it was a wonderful environment for catching up and hanging out, but that still gave couples and individuals in our party some space and privacy during our reunion :) Well situated for runs/walks in the Desert Hot Springs neighborhood, day trips to Joshua Tree and Palm Springs. The hot tub was sublime, and communications with Eric were seamless and always prompt - he was kind enough to give us some tables for our Thanksgiving away from home, and everyone used the kitchenettes to cook a proper meal. Wonderful host, and a lovely stay!

Funky, lovely, secluded little experience!

The perfect size for my party of 12 for a 3-day weekend! Eric was very responsive and helpful with answering questions about the facilities and local offerings in the neighborhood. There's not much directly in the area, but why would you need to leave, anyway? We loved having our own pool, beautiful view of the mountains and famous windmills, and being far enough from surrounding buildings that things felt private. The beds were comfortable, showers were hot, and every room had something unique and fun to offer. A few basics were missing from the kitchenettes, but overall this was a great choice for a staycation and I've already recommended it to more friends and family. Will definitely come again!

Very unique and so much character

This property is so cool. We were a friend group of 9 adults that rented the property for a weekend. There are 5 individual studio/one-bedroom units, and each one was special. Swimming in the pool & soaking in the Jacuzzi were going to be the main event for our weekend, but the pool was too cold for the majority of us (weird that it could be too cold when temperatures were 100 degrees +), and the Jacuzzi was only slightly warmer than the pool (still too cold for me). We had planned to heat the Jacuzzi, which is an add-on option per the listing, but when I reached out to Eric 2 weeks prior to our stay to request the Jacuzzi to be heated, he informed me that the heater was not working. This was disappointing because we were looking forward to spending our evenings in the Jacuzzi. I wouldn't have booked this property if I knew the Jacuzzi wouldn't be heated. Other than that, Eric was a great host, and I would love to return and pay extra to heat both pool and Jacuzzi when that's an option.

Amazing boutique hotel!

We rented this entire 5 bedroom property for a weekend getaway - we had 3 families and lots of kids and everyone loved it. The decor was so fun and the entire vibe of the place was perfect. The kids loved having their own rooms and the parents loved the courtyard area for relaxing. Check in and check out could not have been easier. We would absolutely come again.

I stayed at the Getaway for my 30th birthday with a group of friends, and i have to say this property was PERFECT. There was so many fun, retro details to all the rooms which went perfectly with our 70s theme. All the rooms were equipped with anything you’d need which made it very convenient. Eric was very on top of communication and even was able to accommodate an early check-in which really eased the stress of preparing to have guests. 10/10 would recommend this property. We had the best time and all my guests were raving about the location. Thanks again, Eric! Hope to visit again :)

Perfect getaway

Our stay at the getaway was great. We were looking for a place that would work for a big group. This place was perfect. We were able to rent out the entire place to enjoy the pool and still maintain privacy. Eric made sure to provide all information up front and was available for questions during our stay. Best price in town! Private! Great mid century escape!

THE COST: At first the cost seemed high because we had the max amount of people (it turned out to be $205 per room for night for August 2020). Be sure to input the right amount of people so you get the accurate price. It was worth it for the following reasons. THE AC + POOL made our stay a breeze in 104 degree August heat! I was really worried about the heat, but it wasn't an issue. We even brought our hairless dog & kept his t-shirt wet & water bowl full & he was happy! BIG ENOUGH INSIDE + OUTSIDE: We reserved the entire complex with our friends + family (9 adults + 6 kids) which made for the ultimate private vacation. We kept the hot tub cool so it acted as the "little pool" to have enough room for us all in the water. THE KITCHENS: Equipped to make our grand breakfasts lunch & dinners which saved us $. It was also an awesome reprieve from covid distancing in restaurants. THE ROOMS were shear joy! It's like we walked into a MadMen apartment. Mid century furniture all the way to mid century melamine dishes for outdoors! Even the accessories, magazines, art, coffee cups were from the 1950's; remember the "View Master" you would look thru & click thru images... they even had one of those in every room! THE NEIGHBORHOOD is a bit desolate, but it's private enough to not see all that & to have fun without worrying you're going to disturb the neighbors. With all this said, this may very well be our YEARLY RETREAT!

Great stay!

A group of 12 of us stayed at the Getaway for the weekend and had an amazing stay! The check in process was extremely easy as the rooms have keyless entry. Each room was decorated a little differently and we loved the variety. There was very clearly special attention to detail in the decor and the old school feel of the place was really cool. Each room has a little kitchen area which is stocked with pots, pans and condiments, all of which make cooking for our group very easy. Temperatures were in the triple digits when we visited but there was sufficient shade in the courtyard and with the A/C on the rooms were cool enough that we were comfortable the whole time. Finally Eric was a great host and was very easy to work with. The booking process felt very organized and he was extremely responsive. If we are ever back in the area we would absolutely stay at The Getaway again!

One of a Kind Stay

What an amazing place! I absolutely love it here and so did everyone else who stayed here with me! So unique and comfortable. It’s like a home away from home. The pool was a life saver with it being so hot in the summer. The host was so quick to respond for everything and the check in/check out could not have gone any smoother! Wonderful private oasis in Palm Desert

We rented out the entire property for a friend's birthday and it did not disappoint! The property is just as advertised, if not even better. All of the 5 rooms were essentially mini apartments and each had their own unique vibe. We came during a heat wave and was worried about the AC but it worked great. Plenty of shade for the pool and the building is set up so that it blocks most of the wind. Eric was very easy to work with and super responsive. Would highly recommend staying here. We will hopefully be back soon!

Blast from the Past

Super charming, family friendly spot to get away from everything. No need to leave, we had everything we needed and more. We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities: pool towels and floaties, board games, record players with an awesome record collection, books, vintage magazines, vintage cookware and anything you could possibly need in the kitchen (serving trays, bakeware, toasters, juicers, champagne buckets, tupperware.. you name it, they have it). The apartments were spacious and private. The only complaint was a sewage smell coming from the bathrooms in apartments #1 & 2. It was only at night, could be from the hot springs in the area. Also, the jacuzzi was out of service. The owner let us know the day before check-in and promptly refunded the heating fees. The owner was very quick to respond to questions, communication was 5 stars! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Cool Cool Cool!

We were looking for a unique spot for a weekend away and this place fit the bill. I booked the whole place for my sisters, the husbands, and the kids. We all had such cute apartments full of charm and nostalgia everywhere we looked. Beds were comfy, there was plenty of towels. Every kitchen was stocked with condiments and spices. Stores were right down the street. The neighborhood was chill with a killer view. We all agreed that the next time we needed a desert escape that this was the place to go! It was way cooler and more comfortable than a hotel and more fun than a regular rental house. Eric was so easy to communicate with and super sweet. We will be back!

MidCentury Desert Oasis

Hosted a group of 15 at The Getaway. Each of the 5 units is uniquely decorated with original midcentury decor and well appointed living rooms/kitchen/bathroom/bedroom. We had 3 people per unit (2 per bed and 1 on convertible couch). Each unit has an AC unit that worked extremely well. Everyone was very comfortable. Outside the pool/hot tub were large enough for everyone to enjoy and the views of the valley were incredible. Sunsets were phenomenal with the mountain range and windmills in the distance. The property is on a secluded street away from hustle and bustle of nearby Palm Springs (18 min drive). The property can accommodate 6+ cars. Eric (the host) was extremely prompt in all communication and accommodating of all our needs. Thank You Eric. I hope to return soon!

Cute location

Love the different 60's/70's vintage decor. All the units are stocked with everything you need. Parking was easy too and the location quiet. Would recommend for large groups b/c you have separate units for smaller groups.
