Located in the original Sunmor Estates neighborhood in central Palm Springs, this renovated Palmer & Krisel home was built in 1958 and has been renovated to give you a true Mid-Century Modern experience. Having enclosed some originally outdoor breezeway areas, this is a unique offering of 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths with more-than-normal interior living space of over 2,100 sq. ft. An open floor plan offers casual living and easy indoor/outdoor entertaining with an island kitchen and dining for 6-8. The large common area features the living room with ample seating and large smart TV flowing into the dining room with large glass sliders just off the larger-than-usual updated kitchen. Throughout this home, you'll find charming furniture pieces meant to recall the heyday of Palm Springs but be comfortable and convenient to entertain the full house of guests. There's even a vintage record player - which should be operated with care - but works to improve your Sinatra singalongs.
The bedrooms are all down the hall: Just past the indoor (hallway) laundry, the first guest room is on the right. The room features a king bed and TV. Its bathroom is just across the hallway which will also be for daytime visiting guests. The second bedroom on the right is the primary bedroom. It features a king bed, TV and a large walk-in closet that can even be used as a sitting room. The bathroom features dual vanities and a shower. Across from the primary is the last bedroom. This one, a junior suite of sorts, features a king bed, TV, en-suite shower bathroom but score points with the slider doors to the back yard and pool.
The amazing back yard offers views of the San Jacinto Mountains. It is packed with all the features needed for an ideal PS getaway: Outdoor dining, pool side with a natural gas grill, the hot tub is situated to maximize sunset views, an outdoor fire pit with additional seating for summer (or even better winter) cocktail hours, a ping pong table nestled away for family entertainment. There's a grassy area and some yard games like croquet to keep the young and young-at-heart amused. The large swimmer's pool (saltwater) will refresh and set you up with a tan making all your co-workers jealous! The spa is there to soak away your troubles. Sunmor is a great residential neighborhood rich with architectural history. Centrally located in the “wind-free” zone, less than 2 miles to downtown Palm Springs. Minutes from the Palm Springs airport and dining, the city hall and a fabulous dog park. Beautiful mid-century homes all around the bike-friendly, walkable neighborhood. View the Tram Station light at night from the backyard, The owner(s) like to stress this home is ideal for a dream vacation and relaxation but is by no means a “party-central” home. Each guest is expected be as good a neighbor as the owner(s) themselves. Special events like weddings are NOT allowed.
