Good location for what we wanted to do. An email before arrival re road closure & how to access & leave the hotel car park & return to Banbury Rd would have been helpful as we wasted a lot of time trying to get there. The route to return to Banbury Rd was particularly complicated, unintuitive & long.
This was a very nice property. It had lovely rooms and the downstairs had a few rooms where you could gather and have a drink or a snack. Breakfast was provided and was excellent. Overall, we would definitely return to this property if we were in the area.
Staff was amazing. Welcoming; asked about my day and how my trip was going. Very happy with the staff. Room was perfect. Location was great for my needs.

Liked: Cleanliness
The building is beautiful, the parking is on site, and the breakfast was amazing! Just a friendly reminder that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. DO NOT BOOK a room unless you can confirm it has a balcony, otherwise, you are in a room that has a tiny window that only opens about 5 inches and you have zero circulation. I booked six rooms and two of us had the non-balcony rooms and we were a sweaty mess all night. Also, the front desk (four different employees) were easily confused. They messed up the room assignments twice and we lost alot of time checking in while trying to help them. During check out, they also got confused on our key returns which slowed us down again. Not sure I would stay again to be honest.

Liked: Amenities
If you’re looking for a quaint Oxford hotel this is it. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is great too! Our room was more modern than I would have liked but clean and welcoming. The only negative is that it’s a bit of a walk to the city center.
Liked the cleanliness and staff. The place needs painting and some love-baseboards and doorways are rough and paint is peeling and stained. Otherwise a nice stay. Rooms are very small.
Perfect stay! From check in to the rooms to the staff, everything about this place was perfect. Great location, which is around 20 minutes walk from the center of Oxford. Rooms very clean and quiet with all amenities needed.
It is a Victorian property with modern amenities. Every one of the staff goes out of their way to be accommodating. Breakfast is delicious with numerous fresh options, the bar is cozy, and the courtyard is inviting. I loved everything about it and recommend it to travelers who like unique and genuine hotels, not plastic and cookie cutter boxes. A jewel.
Very friendly staff, checked me in earlier as I had arrived to the hotel after a trans-Atlantic flight. Also gave me an upgrade to a very nice room, extremely quiet hotel despite being fully booked. A nice bar and restaurant on premises.
