Casa Sottosopra by Wonderful Italy
Modern studio apartment with a mezzanine in the heart of Ostuni's historic center.
The apartment is on the ground floor of a building located in one of the characteristic alleys of the White City. The entrance opens onto a lovely open space that combines modern style with the typical style of Ostuni houses where vaulted ceilings with exposed stones make the environment rustic, but elegant at the same time. Here there is a kitchenette equipped with an oven, a microwave and a kettle, a dining table and a double sofa bed. A staircase leads to the mezzanine furnished with a queen-size bed. A bathroom with shower completes the layout.
*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.
Ostuni, known to the world as the White City, is the pearl of the Itria Valley. Its blindingly white, immense historic center culminates in the Cathedral (600 meters from the apartment) that soars over the plain of olive trees, the coastal dune park and a crystal-clear sea. Characteristic are its narrow streets, the Piazza della Libertà (5 minutes away) and the column of St. Oronzo that majestically protects the town.
Its countryside stretches into the heart of the Itria Valley. A few kilometers away is Ceglie Messapica, a center of tradition and enogastronomy; Cisternino, a village recognized as one of the most beautiful in Italy; and Alberobello, whose famous trulli have been a world heritage site since 1996. About 30 km to the north we find the Archaeological Park of Egnatia, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, ancient fishing villages with a charming historic center and beautiful beaches. To the north (80 km) we find Bari, the gateway to the East, while proceeding south we first encounter the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, then Brindisi to reach Lecce, the capital of Baroque. Moving westward there is Taranto, heart of Magna Graecia, and finally to Matera, characteristic for its sassi and European Capital of Culture 2019.
The nearest airports are Brindisi and Bari, which are 35 minutes and 1 hour and 10 minutes away by car, respectively.
