Firstly, the photographs are highly misleading. They depict the property as part of a resort-style community, which is not the case. In reality, it is a rundown residential suburb.
Upon my arrival, I retrieved my rental car and proceeded to the property. I was expecting to receive an email for virtual check-in, but it was never received. As I approached the community, the road was blocked by police due to a large brush fire that was rapidly spreading. The police were evacuating the area, and we were rightfully denied access. When I inquired about the possibility of returning, the police advised that they were uncertain of the return date.
I promptly contacted Hotels.com to report the situation and request their assistance. Hotels.com informed me that the reservation was non-refundable. Despite my explanation, they remained steadfast in their position. While they made a note of the incident, they failed to offer me alternative accommodations.
In response to my repeated inquiries, Hotels.com consistently acknowledged the inconvenience caused but failed to initiate a refund for the payment.Hotels.com reported that they attempted to contact the property owners on multiple occasions, but they consistently failed to respond.
To date, I have not received any satisfactory resolution or a logical explanation for the situation, as I have paid for two properties for the same period.
I strongly advise against recommending this property or Hotels.com.
