Shoshone Chalet is a spectacular vacation home in Olympic Valley, nestled in an upscale, gated neighborhood with stunning views of Painted Rock just 2 miles from the Village at Palisades Tahoe. Leave your car toasty warm in the garage on snow days and bypass the paid parking reservation system by utlizing the free Moutaineer shuttle. For those who appreciate epic ski days, there is no better base camp than Shoshone Chalet. The home boasts a warm mountain modern style, European Oak wide plant hardwood floors with radiant heating, vaulted ceilings with large windows showcasing sunshine and beautiful treed views. The living room has an impressive floor to ceiling
Extraordinaire linear gas fireplace with imported glass, TV with Sonos surround sound, and a desk for office work when duty calls. The primary suite with a private deck is on the main level, while the loft with a TV, digital piano and bean bags for the kids is upstairs with the three additional bedrooms and two bathrooms. Attention to detail in the construction includes Mountain Forge custom handcrafted steel staircase railings, solid oak doors/baseboards/trim/cabinets and a true chef's kitchen. A finished, spacious garage and mudroom are ideal for keeping wet gear and snow clothes stored while the home is insulated to the highest of standards, keeping everyone cozy all year long. As a finishing touch, a small, private park is directly across the street while the rear of the house faces 60 foot pine trees and miles of undeveloped forest.
Situated less than six miles from downtown Tahoe City and 10 miles from Truckee, Shoshone Chalet offers endless activities suitable for all ages year-round. A mere minute’s drive or a short stroll leads you to Olympic Valley Park with pickleball courts, a children’s playground, and a turf field. During summer, a nearby bike shop offers rentals for scenic rides along the Olympic Valley path to Palisades Tahoe, the Truckee River to the River Ranch restaurant, Tahoe City, or the picturesque West Shore of Lake Tahoe. No matter the season, this is one home for those who relish in adventure and activity.

County Rules
Each county requires we inform you of the rules and regulations relevant to your home's Short Term Rental Permit. We thank you in advance for abiding by the rules below, also included in your signed in the Vacation Rental Agreement.
Maximum Occupancy: There shall be no gatherings, events, weddings or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the Agreement.
Parking: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage and/or driveway.
Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week, Noise carries easier and further in higher elevations and over water. Per the ordinance: No sound from the vacation rental home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.
Lights Out: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. Per the Ordinance: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such other outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors.
Red Flag Warnings: Due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal barbecues and wood-burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning Days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winds, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during Red Flag Warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.
Winter Driving
Many highways, access roads and/or driveways are steep in Tahoe/Truckee and may be icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st - April 30th brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Make sure the chains are the proper size for your tires and are in working order. You may find valuable winter driving tips from the CHP here: https://bit.ly/3IKiY7n
Summer Patio Furniture
Patio furniture is available for your use during summer months only. All outdoor tables, chairs and loungers are put into storage in the fall, in order to protect the furnishings from winter weather. Barbecue grills, however, do remain outside for your enjoyment.
Black bears are very common in this area and have become habituated to human food and garbage. Because bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter bears during your spring, summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal. Leaving food outside, trash accessible, or doors and windows unlocked is likely to cause significant property damage to homes and to vehicles. Please take a moment to learn how to be Bear Aware, so that we can continue to live in harmony with our wildlife.
Office Holiday Hours
The TLUXP office is closed on New Year’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate check-ins and check-outs on these dates. Thank you for understanding.
A 3.8% credit card fee will be added to the total amount due, (excluding the service fee charged by Vrbo), if a credit card is used for payment with TLUXP. This is not reflected in the quote by Vrbo.
