Nice and clean room at Sheraton hotel in Carlsbad

We had 2 nights at Sheratons hotel in Carlsbad then moved to Westin hotel next to Sheraton for 3 nights. Both hotels are nice and clean. Friendly employees.

We were there for soccer tournament but the water slide was off. We had rips on our blankets and an old ripped up chair as well. No tissues in the bathroom it was empty. For the price it wasn’t worth it.

Nice and quiet hotel. Rooms are still in good condition. (Showers could use an upgrade though) staff was super friendly and the manager was super helpful! Restaurant was had good options.

Terrible condition, terrible service. Half of what you see here will be closed for maintenance or closed for the season or some excuse for amenities being out of service. The pool is so cold that no one uses it. The playroom has issues with mold or smells or something so they lock it up. Requests to heat the pool or make people more comfortable were ignored. Definitely not worth the money.

There were 2 outstanding people working at The Sheraton. Taryn at the front desk is excellent and Donald who helped us when we arrived. Our safe was not working and the desk chair was disgusting - peeling and gross. The pillows were hard as rocks as well. Fortunately Donald brought as a new safe and changed out the chair. Taryn ordered feather pillows for us. The room had a peculiar smell so we aired it out. There was a patio but it was too cold to use it

Overall everything great- kitchen a little meh. Ordered two salmon kiddos entrees with rice. Both came with mash pots no rice. One salmon had so much salt on top it was not edible. I cut off the top half of salmon. Tried calling house keeping but first phone didn’t work. Second phone worked and kitchen happily sent some rice. Charcuterie board was delicious.

We charged six times for our stay. Once by Expedia and five more time by the Sheraton. Multiple charges ranging from 100 to 1000 all different amounts of charges and reversals. It was an absolute mess and left me with zero confidence in their management system. I’ve had to make multiple calls and struggle to get anyone on the phone from the resort.

The pool was not heated and the spa was luke warm. We ordered glasses and a wine bottle opener and it took 1.5 hrs to receive it. Also the walls and ceiling are not very well insulated. We woken up at 6:30 am to stomping running and children screaming
