Great service, clean room, poor WiFi

The staff and service at the Fenwick Inn was perfect, the room was clean and well laid out with lots of USB and regular outlets. When we checked in, we noticed that our refrigerator wasn't working and that we would like a microwave oven (no additional charge, you just have to request it). I told the front desk staff and within minutes, a maintenance person and the front desk person delivered the microwave and looked at the fridge. They replaced it with another one that was already cold. The Fenwick Inn is pet friendly and the staff love dogs. My major complaint was the poor WiFi in the room, which was mostly unusable (0.1 Mbps upload & download during the evening). I put my laptop in the bathroom and let it sit for hours during the day, it eventually uploaded my pictures. I brought a Roku, but that barely connected and I couldn't use it due to low bandwidth. I reported that, but there wasn't anything they could do, but they should have WiFi access points in every room. The lobby had good WiFi (100Mbps down/38Mbps up). The cable TV was missing channels, but I didn't report that until after we checked out.

This was a an absolute favorite of my wife and i. It was always inexpensive, and more than acceptable for the money. Its been sold. They "remodeled " which apparently means new furniture, a purely cosmetic makeover and putting in a "splash pad" okay....yeah, its a pretty weak kids area. And started adding a "resort fee" Don't get me wrong, its still way more than okay, but now it's all the money for really no added attraction.

I came here in 2014. The property has then since been renovated which is a plus. This is an extremely dog friendly hotel. Everytime we were in the lobby or in and out the elevator there was a dog.. which i am not a fan of but i respect the hotels policy. We were able to check in 3hrs early. Praise God! The pool was a bit crowded and heavy on the chlorine. Other than that. Id recommend staying here. On the 5th floor i did not hear any dogs at all.

Great for families!

Positive:The staff was all friendly and helpful. The pool is great, especially for children. I love the splash pad and it's so nice that is indoor. Everything appears to have been recently updated. Free breakfast was just okay for the Grown-ups but great for kids. Our son loved the pancake maker. The room was clean and adequate size with space for all your beach stuff. The location is great for a quick walk to the beach, mini golf right next door, and a short drive to Northside Park. Walking distance to get coffee and other treats. "Negative": The walls must be thin because we could hear everything all night. Bring your ear plugs and white noise app/machines. Coffee connoisseurs may want to consider going elsewhere in the mornings. Overall it's a great hotel! The "negatives" aren't a deal breaker. Just sharing for people to consider when they plan to stay.

Birthday getaway with granddaughters.

Love staying here. Staff was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was basic, just grab and go as stated. Pool was very clean. Would definitely stay again.
