The room was just mediocre

The rooms saving grace is the amazing ocean front view and quick access to the beach. The carpet smelled of old cigarette smoke,the balcony screen was off track, android tv is horrible,the mattress kept sliding off wifi was going in and out. For the price these rooms go for i expected better. The first night there we were by chainsmokers and couldn't use the balcony ,our own balcony had several cigarette butts. Even though it was advertised as non smoking hotel no one follows the rules so it was hard to enjoy the view and the sounds of the ocean with the door open because of smokers all night long. All in all if they want to charge the prices they do...they need to do alot of upkeep on the inside. The outside is nice the appliances are nice the bathroom is nice the staff is nice.

Cleanliness Lacking.

Location is great! Staff was friendly, check in was easy. However, room cleanliness was not good - stained carpets, flooring coming up and the bathroom floor looked like it was not mopped. The bedding was clean. Fridge was overly cold and froze our drinks. Coffee machine was not stocked with cups. The property is beautifully decorated just needs some better attention to detail for cleanliness!

My Sealoft Experience

Funny story... I booked a room at a different hotel. I used an online booking site, which gave this particular hotel a four star rating. One day before my trip, I decided to go on YouTube to see if anyone made a video about the hotel. I found a video, that's when I knew I had to try to cancel my reservation and find another hotel, fast! I went on Hotels.com came across Sealoft and the sites reviews and Google reviews were the same. I was able to book a room and the other hotel canceled my reservation for free; it was a win-win!!! The Sealoft lived up to the online photos and reviews. It was swanky, clean, and the staff was friendly, professional, and hospitable. The next time that I'm in Ocean City, MD, I already know where I'm going to stay, the Sealoft of course!👍😀

Hotel was clean and everything in the room worked. We liked the beach access and pool however I did not like that we were charged an additional $150 at check in that was not mentioned when I paid $900 for the hotel prior. That felt very sneaky and luckily we had enough for it but had we not that would’ve been even more frustrating.

Our family has been staying here for the past 5 or 6 years and this is our second year staying in a Suite. We love this hotel and have always had great experiences. This time was not so great and we are very saddened by it. Upon check in, our check in person gave me a balance however there was no owed balance. Next, I was hit with a parking charge which apparently changed this year so now you are charged for parking which was not clearly notated for being a big change. I know the change is not completely their fault or atleast I was told it was the state not their facility, however I’m not a fan of paying for parking when I already pay to stay somewhere, everywhere usually includes free parking. Secondly with paying for parking, this hotel’s lot is VERY small and there is sometimes no open spaces so I’m paying for the possibility of not even having a space as well as there is no one monitoring their lot as people park over lines on purpose taking up two spaces. Paying for a suite room should either include parking or have an assigned parking space. Once we were finally checked in, we made our way to our room. We inspect every room thoroughly before unpacking and what not. Their housekeeping did NOT clean our room. Out on the balcony there was a soda can with cigarette butts in it, mind you this hotel is non-smoking, which is clearly not enforced. Also on the balcony there was a disgustingly dirty wash cloth that I don’t even want to know what it was used for..(out of space)

First things first - we would definitely stay here again. The location was perfect (far enough from the boardwalk to be out of the hustle and bustle, but close enough to the boardwalk to go visit and to have everything you need right next door). The room was nice, the hotel was super cute, and it being right on the beach was wonderful. The beach in that area was clean and not too packed (Labor Day weeken). The only reason I knocked it down one star was because there were a few things that were listed as amenities that I had to ask the front desk for (body wash and pull out bed bedding). Also, the internet (another listed amenity) in room 305 was terrible. It wouldn't be that big of a deal except I did have some work I needed to do in our down time, and you have to have working internet to make the TV work (by either projecting your apps to it or using their "cable" service which apparently needs internet too). The internet was so bad Instagram wouldn't even load. I asked the front desk twice about it (and not in a rude or demanding way) and the second guy told me there was nothing he could do about it, but I (me, the guest) could go downstairs to the front desk and he would give me the number of the internet company to try and fix it myself...? That was pretty ridiculous. So if you need to do work or just need TV or internet for downtime, you may want to reconsider or plan to hang out at Starbucks.

We had a great stay at Sealoft! The oceanfront room provided the absolute best view to wake up to and end the evening. Everything we needed was within walking distance, could not have been a better location. The room was decently clean and had been recently renovated. I would stay here again, but I’d also check out the sister property across the street, which had even more amenities and was extremely well kept from what we saw during our visit to their pool. Staff was friendly and helpful as well!
