The hotel and it's staff were lovely. However after booking through Expedia what we believed to be a balcony room with a view, we were swiftly changed and downgraded to another room because we had a dog. Yet the room charge stayed the same? I am sick and tired of booking through 3rd party site's using the correct methods given, to be constantly penalised and clearly downgraded because of our dog. How can it be consistently acceptable for dog owner's to not only be downgraded to what the "hospitality" business call a "dog friendly" room, which usually has the view of a dingy car park and a considerably stained carpet , to then charge extra for the so called privilege! I'd like to know what exactly the extra charge for a dog goes on as it's clearly not used for a carpet cleaner!
