I had a really good stay at this hotel from the minute we walk in we are greeted with complementary mezcal, which was amazing.
Excellent customer service. Our luggage was carried to our room. Things were explained and how the breakfast is and the restaurant hours the premises is kept locked at dusk, and there is always somebody at the front desk.
The reception always has somebody there 24 hours Many of the staff speak perfect English as several of them are from the US. I’m not sure what all of the negative views are about but we had no problems.
We stayed in rooms 111 and 112. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms have enough space they have air-conditioning and televisions. I appreciate the lighting. I can have dim lighting or bright lighting. They do have a pool, but it was not in service. They have an art gallery and they are located in an excellent location where you can walk to anywhere in the downtown Centro area.
The food was good. The fresh made tortillas were awesome and the continental breakfast is enough you can order extra items off their menu depending on which stays and packages you get sometimes breakfast is included other times you just order separately. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will be staying here again on my next visit to Oaxaca City.
I especially liked that the floors are LVP because they are a lot less slippery than the tile floors.
The shower had excellent water, pressure and plenty of hot water.
The hotel was at a perfect location just a 3 min walk to the zocalo and the center of the city. The hotel was clean and very spacious. The continental breakfast was great and our waiter, Rafael was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is ideally located in the center of town one block from the plaza on a pedestrians only street. The rooms are rather large and the hotel is very clean. The staff was incredible from the moment we arrived until our departure. I would certainly recommend this property and look forward to staying there again.
This place is great! Location is the best, walking distance to everything, located on the main pedestrian street, andador Macedonio Alcalá, close to zocalo, Santo Domingo, restaurants, great coffee shop right nextdoor.
The staff is very friendly snd breakfast was delicious, chef Victor made us feel welcome everyday at the restaurant and Rocio in the office always very friendly and attentive, as well as the rest of the staff. We felt at home. We are definitely staying here everytime we go back to Oaxaca.
A great little place perfectly located in the center of the tourist walkway. Room, Bed, Bathroom- were all perfect, but the A/C wasn't working on our 1st night- which made it very uncomfortable as it was pretty hot. They fixed it for the following night. Other than that- all was great!
La Catrina is a beautiful, modern, extremely artistic hotel in the center of town (a block from the Zocalo). I can't say enough nice things about the staff who helped me with directions, getting taxis, information, etc. I only ate breakfast in the restaurant but the food was always fresh and excellent. The free breakfast is modest (a sweetbread, fruit, juice, tea/coffee) so I usually got an omelette in addition. I always had hot water in the shower and the rooms are spotless. I was there in the off season so it was pretty quiet. My only comment for improvement was there wasn't really a place to hang out or feel comfortable other than time spent in my room. It's a little stark and may not be for everyone but for a graphic artist the overall design and artistic air of the place (visit their art gallery) was over the top. Five stars.
