Decent stay, good value

Really close to Norwich City Stadium, station and centre. Good location if looking to visit Norwich. Good value. Room was fine with nice bathroom and shower. Nice a hot shower. Bed was a bit creaky but fine. Overall decent value, easy stay.

This is one of the nicest places we have stayed. Overall quality of the decor, fixtures and fittings and facilities was second to none. Bathtub has to be seen to be believed, it's massive. Bed really comfy. Telly could be a little bigger but it was adequate. Had to turn the heating down, that's a first. Staff sooo helpful and polite. We will be back.

Lacked what we needed

The two things I want from a quick trip like this are comfort and convenience. Unfortunately the bed was really uncomfortable. The mattress was hard and the pillows were lumpy so we didn't sleep well. We'd booked due to the advertised free parking, that was my reason for choosing here over other locations. On the first night we parked ok in the small car park. On the second night the car park was full, and the road beside was permit holders only. I went in to ask where to park and was directed to a paid for car park nearby. It wasn't far, but it wasn't what we'd booked for. I went back to check the Hotels.com information to see if I'd missed details, but all rooms were advertised with free parking, and it wasn't specified that there were only 4 spaces available for 20+ rooms. Perhaps this information is on the hotel's own booking information, but not where I booked on this site as far as I could see. Neither of these points was the end of the world, but given that they are the two most important things to me, I wouldn't stay here again.

Our Marlborough stay

Nice size room ensuite shower. The hosts sent some articles which i forgetfully left behind. So nice of them. Watch out for parking tickets on street as it's permit only.

Overpriced room rate based on poor room condition & cleanliness: Requested a Non-Smoking room with wooden floors in advance of check in. Upon arrival allocated Room 23 - double room. Upon looking at pictures of Double Rooms on websites, we were allocated the smallest double room. The room is not at all as depicted in the pictures - current condition of the room is poor. Room walls are smudged, dirty and have quite a few patches paint chips. Bedside lamp cracked. Bed is very squeaky - squeaky with every movement made. Our bathroom was not any of the pictures advertised - it wasn't as immaculate as any of the bathrooms in the pictures and was much smaller. Room and bathroom not professionally cleaned - dusty furnishings and floor skirtings; drawers in bedroom need a clean; dirty bathroom cabinet; dirt in bathroom floor corners; bathroom basin cup and soap holders dirty; shower door needs proper cleaning. No toilet roll holder and plug in hand basin doesn't stay shut. No sound proofing - hear all movements of people in other rooms, including singing in shower and frolicking. Strong, unpleasant smell lingering in room - unsure if from strong cleaning chemicals used or lingering smell from old cigarette smoke. Shower drain blocked - overflowing so had to cut shower short. All matter of debri was coming up thru the drain. Pictures taken to back what has been stated.

Excellent location conveniently close to Norwich train station, Carrow Road and the city centre. All within easy walking distance. Check in was great, where I met the very pleasant owner. Room was warm, quiet and clean. Had everything I needed. I think Marlborough Hotel will be number one choice when I'm back in Norwich.

Lovely hotel! Recommend highly

Really lovely hotel for the price room is everything it stated to be lovely bathroom! Bed was comfy. Great location too for going into Norwich would recommend staff were lovely and always on hand and informative. Was breakfast If wanted for £5.99 which isn’t a bad deal at all!
