Excellent Restaurant, but the rooms a little tired

The Walnut Tree is a lovely place, the room tidy and clean, if a little tired. Food and restaurant is excellent. Would I go there again? Yes, I'm booked in for next week.

Insomnia train lovers delight

Simple but clean comfortable beds, good food served and friendly staff…. Done side, bed shaking every time a train went past up until 11.00 and started again around 5.30 am

A bit small, but acceptable.

The Walnut is a lovely hotel and restaurant. My room, while clean and tidy, was really small and lacked, what I call, basic amenities. ie wardrobe, table etc. Would I recommend the Walnut? Yes, of course. But don't pick the single room.

Comfortable and clean

Comfortable room with smart newly refurbished bathroom. Nice bar and breakfast was good. My room was at the front nearest the main rail line, though the sound of passing trains was pretty much constant it wasn't too disturbing. Would certainly stay here again anyway.

Light sleepers avoid!

The hotel is let down by the fact that the railway line is literally across the road. The bed literally shook when the trains ran over the track. Light sleepers will struggle as you can hear the trains clear as day. The hotel itself, including service, was spot on but location and sound proofing is awful. Not sure if this is listed on the booking and my booking was last minute, so could have missed it

Nice hotel but poor lovation

Very noisy due to the Trainline directly behind the hotel. Windows were not sufficient to block out the noise and the lights flickered and rattled with every passing train.

What a lovely place, the room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff very friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing, just what you need after a day at Silverstone circuit. Will book again

Good location, staff friendly and very clean. Breakfast was lovely. Our only issue was the live band in the bar that we weren’t told about when checking in and our room was right above it. Loud music until late!
