This experience is Vermont at its best!
Fully restored 200+ yr. old colonial farmhouse, on 40+ acres. Set on a spectacular piece of land that includes a seasonal Vermont mountain stream, open space, plenty of walking trails and some fun & challenging hiking opportunities up through the forest.
Original field stone fireplace in living room built by John Stanley c. 1800. The state of the art kitchen is well stocked and features modern stainless steel appliances: 6 burner professional chef gas stove, dishwasher and microwave, yet still has that old world charm with butcher block counters and wood beams.
3 sets of French doors that lead to a cozy back porch with panoramic scenery.
Take in the views of “the back 40” while sipping your coffee, listening to the creek and contemplating a walk through the forest up to Oscar, the second oldest oak in Vermont. Or savor a glass of wine as you watch the sunset behind the mountain and maybe plan a hike to the Northwest corner, where there is an old post marking the NY/VT state boundary. (Our property backs up to 800 acres of state forest and mountains.) Either way be sure to take a rest and take in the breath taking views at “The Fork” on your way up.
We love the area and property so much we also bought the cabin next door. Feel free to mosey over and check out the pond, the active Christmas tree farm and the tiny 10 person cemetery dating from the early 1800s. (Our cabin next door is also for rent VRBO 745850).
The farmhouse is conveniently located between charming Manchester with its fine restaurants and upscale designer outlets and quaint, historic Bennington. This is Vermont at its best- small shops, antique stores, museums, art galleries, Green Mountain views, fine dining and 30 minutes to Bromley ski resort (which turns into a summer adventure park).
Each of the two bedrooms have a new queen size bed . The upstairs bath is quite large and updated, as is the first floor bath.

Pets must be pre approved- we have farm animals the free range on our property next door.

Perfect Christmas for My 80 yr old Mom

My 80 yr old mom had not been back to Vermont since 1996, and she loved every minute of our stay here.The farmhouse is quaint and charming and only 20 mins from town. The furniture and accommodations were terrific - my mom could not make it up the stairs, but she was delighted with how comfortable the couch was!This place is a fabulous getaway, and we could not have been happier.

Lovely, peaceful Farmhouse

We loved our 3 night stay here at the farmhouse. Cozy, yet spacious with a beautiful view off he back deck. Mornings with coffee on the deck were so peaceful. We’d hear the occasional bleating of goats next door - quite the characters they are. My daughter and her friend absolutely loved the house from the second they walked in and insisted we come back next year. Kitchen had all the necessary cooking items and even some spices etc. Check in/out was a breeze. Communication was easy. Hope to return next year.

Fall foliage vacation

My sister and our husbands came from Florida to Vermont to enjoy the fall foliage. We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful farmhouse. It was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the back swing and looking at the views. The kitchen was well supplied. The beds were comfortable. I definitely recommend this place.

The home itself and the property were gorgeous, our stay was easy in terms of finding the property and checking in. The host was very communicative and friendly, as were all of the people we met during our stay. The kids enjoyed running around outside and saying hello to the goats. The only downside was that the home was very dirty. There was mold in the bathroom, and the kitchen was kind of gross, most things were covered in an almost greasy film. I understand farmhouse charm, and I don’t have really high standards having kids, but I did clean any dishes we used before using them due to the grime, and we definitely left the kitchen cleaner than we found it. If you don’t mind hanging with dirt and spiders, it’s otherwise a really great place.

Amazing

Lovely home! Tranquility at it's finest! Babbling brook going through the back yard! Family enjoyed cooking meals together in a huge kitchen! Enjoyed fires in the wood burning stove! Enjoyed the scenery hiking the 45 arce property. Enjoyed interacting with the goats, chickens, and ducks next door. 9 and 11 y/o had a blast. Host of the property was very accessible to whatever we needed! Our check out day we visited historic Bennington (historic street from the revolutionary war era). I can go on and on! Magical Stay!

Our stay was nothing short of magical! This home was beyond our expectation! This charming property is a walk back in time to another era. The original features of the farm are beautifully intact with all the modern comforts you would expect. Weekend getaway

The home is lovely and cozy. We were there during a deep Arctic blast but spent a lovely day by the fire with a book and watched the sun sparkle on the snow outside. Drove about 45 minutes to Mt Snow for a fantastic day of snowboarding. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Autumn getaway!

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful country home! The grounds are picturesque, complete with a porch swing, babbling stream and mountain view. The children spent most of their time exploring outside and visiting the animals next door. There were also plenty of games and toys to keep them occupied while inside. We adults enjoyed the wide variety of books in their library, and the kind of respite only enjoyed by having fully occupied children. I only wish our stay could have been longer. If you’re looking for a quiet country retreat, look no further!

Wonderful vacation
