Never had a problem with any Holiday Inn Express until now. I specifically asked the morning desk clerk about the room make-up policy. I was told the room would be made up as long as I did not hang the 'Eco' tag on the door. I did not, and yet we returned to an unmade room. I went to the desk and was told the room could not be made, they only had one set of towels, and they had nobody to send them to the room. I expressed my astonishment of having only one set in the entire hotel. I suggested they take one from another room or pool supply and was told they can't. I never heard the word 'can't' so many times in such a short period of time. I was surprised to learn that 'can't' held such esteemed status in Hospitality 101. However, I do believe they were shortstaffed evidenced by they same debris not cleaned in one of the elevators during our two night stay.

Hotel was very clean. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Same items every day though. Outdoor pool was nice but we couldn't use it. Our trip was in mid-November. Staff stated pool was heated but the water was very cold. Couldn't even put our feet in it was so cold. We had a 5 night stay and kiddos wanted to swim!

The room was very clean and the staff was super friendly, if you need to be near the airport it is a little out of the way. But there's so much to do and Sarasota requires a bit of driving to begin with. I will absolutely be back the next time I am in the city.
