Great front desk staff, but that’s it!

The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful and attentive. The hotel’s proximity to downtown Newport was perfect. However even with recent renovations done, curtains were ripped and other things just looked “tired”. Also, the housekeeping department left much to be desired. We paid for a 2 bdrm suite (over $1400 for 3 nights OFF SEASON) and although beds were made daily and towels replaced, they never replenished the coffee supplies, bottled water, and never vacuumed the room. The washing machine didn’t work either which we found out the hard way the night before checkout, when the water didn’t drain. When we checked out the front desk staff felt awful and asked why we didn’t say anything sooner, but we didn’t want to make a stink. At least they have some knowledge for the next guest to make their stay better. Also, be warned! Their version of a continental breakfast was horrible!!!! Stale pastry, watered down juices, some apples & clementines for fruit and store bought style bagels. Not even a hard boiled egg to be found. I’ve had better continental breakfasts or lower end chain hotels! They should simple keep it to coffee and tea and not claim any kind of breakfast. Lastly, the road noise is horrendous so if you’re looking for a quiet stay, this is not a good choice.

Just perfect! Hotel is right on the beach and sleeping with sound of the ocean was amazing. All the stuff was super friendly and working hard, very good team, special recognition to Kris who went above and beyond, we asked if she was the owner bc she truly cared so much about every aspect and was always there whenever we needed anything, we hugged when we where checking out! Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Great location cozy historic hotel.

Beautiful location and friendly staff. And older hotel with some nice updates but also some areas that are a bit rundown here and there is you look closely. Very cozy. Easy walk to the beach and Cliff Walk. Would definitely go back.

I really loved the view! The location is amazing! Being across from the beach as well as the cliff walk! The cliff walk is a must do! I also loved the roof top! I did not like how my room did NOT have an eating area! I expected it to especially because I had a joining 2nd room. I also hated how the “free” breakfast was not ready for a busy spring break bookings. The staff should have the heads up and be better prepared for a busy time. Getting breakfast was the dreadful part! By day 2 of 5 there was no coffee available! Had to wait on it which was a big change from it being available and hot in the lobby all day. But I will say the coffee is better than some restaurants I been to. Really good. House keeping didn’t really do much to the 2 rooms we had. We didn’t get toilet paper when we were out. They gave us 2 new towels when we were a party of 4. Other than that the staff was nice and the building felt peaceful despite it being spring break. I also love how you can hear the ocean at night!

Girls weekend

This hotel was in a perfect location for us to visit mansions and get dinner downtown very clean and friendly staff. The pull out couch was very uncomfortable for my daughter. Other beds were great. Only gave us 2 coffee pods for 3 adults but the desk gave us more. View and beach were wonderful

I love the location of the property, and the staff was great. There were a few things that I noticed. The outdoor hot tub looked like it needed to be redone, there was a lot of tiles missing. The walls in the room rooms were paperthin. The first night we heard the people above us until about 11:30 at night when they went to sleep and the second night I was woken up by the ladies next-door at about 1:30 in the morning till about three in the morning, it sounded like they were talking in my room.

I had a wonderful experience staying at this lovely property. I’m especially grateful for the upgraded room opportunity. My room was spacious, the views were spectacular. The Jacuzzi tub was exceptional. I found everything to be immaculate and had all of the amenities I required.

The room was okay. The property had a terrible smell that literally made me throw up the rather mediocre breakfast that we were able to grab and go with coffee was old and terrible. The breakfast had literally just bagels and a couple of oranges and some juice oh, and some English muffins. We usually stay closer to town and in the future will be doing so again as this experience was a complete waste of money which cost us way more than it would’ve cost us to stay closer to the town of Newport reached out to the property and they offered to have us come back no thank you for a cheaper rate also no thank you. They acted like they were unaware of the spell, which is something you cannot be unaware of if you step out of your car on that property even worse if you get close to the beach, I did some research and the smell is from red algae which is blooming and I’m sure they knew about it and did not inform anyone who was staying there, which is awful if I could give it less than one star I would .
