Disliked: Cleanliness
The hosts were a very nice young couple who seemed very inexperienced. The apartment was not very clean, tho they were busy mopping the floor when we arrived, with large amounts of water. None of the beds that we saw in the apartment, including the queen bed where we were hoping to sleep, had any sheets, blankets or pillows on them. Each mattress instead was wrapped in a clear sheet of plastic. (They told us they thought that people "would rather bring their own sheets.")When we asked about sheets, blankets and pillows, they said they could go out and buy some for us - but it was already evening and nearing time for bed. (And it seemed the place should have been ready to go when we arrived in any case.)The apartment was extremely warm (maybe 80 degrees?), was not very clean, had chairs and other furniture stacked on the beds as they mopped, and was all around not ready for guests. We have travelled all around the world and stayed in many, many, many different places over the years, many of them very humble, some with dirt floors. We don't need "fancy." But this place was truly completely unacceptable. I hope this couple can go spend a night in another VRBO location somewhere, to learn what an accomodation should be like.
