The hotel really needs massive updating. The furniture and carpet were badly stained. The sofa was so old it sagged and the upholstery had bald patches. The wallpaper wasn't just peeling, it was coming off the walls and there were water stains on the wall.

The area outside the hotel is fantastic with the beautiful view but the inside of the hotel was old and dusty. The wallpaper were stained from being old and peeling off at some parts. Some of the wood panels were cracked and broken. All this hotel needs is a fresh coat of paint on the room walls and a good dusting down of the room and all shall be well :-)

Hotel is nice enough; location is not too bad; relatively close to Xindian station at the start of the green line. Breakfast is quite nice. Entrance hall is done in an Italian classical fashion, quite fun. However, the rooms, although perfectly comfortable are quite run down, not the best design and both the aircon and the highway bridge outside deliver quite a bit of noise when sleeping at night. View of Bitan from the room is quite nice. Very bright in the mornings. Free laundry service on the top floor is very useful. Only one member of staff really speaks any English, but you can communicate easily with google translate and they are very accommodating.

This hotel is very dated. When we walked into the hotel, there's strong moldy smell. The furniture and walls have scratch everywhere. Will definitely not go back again!

The hotel with an amazing view

This hotel seems to be an old property, however it has been very well maintained. The rooms overlooking the river are a must. That is the prime reason for this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean. It is walking distance from the Xindian MRT and bus station and also very close to many scenic tourist places.

Great Value with excellent customer service!!!

Great value for excellent customer service from the front desk and hotel staff. The hotel was clean, with great location and 6-7 minutes walking distance to the Xindian MRT station. Highly recommended!!! I will definitely revisit Lake Hotel!

Staff was professional and eager to assist in any way. Room was clean and had lots of extras, for a base-priced room. There was a desk, safe, closet w/hangers, tea/coffee pot, fridge, hairdryer, comfy beds and an amazing bidet that you could employ, if desired. The breakfast buffet had an elaborate selection w/high quality choices..cappucino, etc., eggs, salad, fresh fruit, milk, cereal, meats, sauteed veggies, toast, carbs, puddings, pouridge & toppings. The non lake view provided a candid view into real, local life in Taipei. My 11th floor room, right across from the firw exit stairs, even had window exit equipment, just in case.

This hotel is situated in a gorgeous region, making it quite easy to go out for meals and sightseeing. It is far from the downtown area, making it ideal for individuals who value tranquility and privacy. Due to my work travels in the nearby region, I would not have considered staying at this hotel very often.
