Very cute property, well maintained exterior, courtyards and pools. Very pretty flowers and landscaping. The desk staff were nice but the maintenance staff were not super friendly. Bathrooms and around the windows in the rooms could use a good deep cleaning.

Good stay. Grab a bigger room if available.

Thank goodness we upgraded our room. My cousin and his wife did not and were placed in the smallest room I have ever seen. Overall it was a good stay and we honestly only spent time in the room when sleeping and getting ready for our many city excursions. Great location but after some exploring of the local neighborhood we will probably choose a different hotel in the future.

I want to only review to express how convenient the location is, how safe I felt, although with construction going on, outside of that, it was quiet. The front desk was always super kind and welcoming. Because a room was available, I was let in early. I was in an older style room. My friend arrived that night and was placed in a newer renovated room. This is the only reason I know the difference! My room had a water leak, which would puddle on the floor, had mosquito larvae within the shower floor and had a lash on the floor upon my arrival. I did appreciate the fridge and the space provided for clothes to dry from the storms. Definitely try to stay in a newer renovated room if given the opportunity! Would stay again due to location.

First time staying here and also first time in New Orleans. The hotel was beautiful and the service was great. If you ever visit, stay here and ask about Nola the cat!

Beautiful old hotel. Lots of charm. Scott at the front desk was excellent. Helping us with parking, finding a room that worked with my disability, great advise on where to go in the city, and was an all around wonderful example of the best of New Orleans. My only complaint was the beds in the Premier Queen room are both damaged. Be careful sitting on the one on the left, it will drop you onto the floor.

In NOLA for Jazz Fest. This hotel offered a good price point and decent location. Walkable to Bourbon St, Jackson Square, etc. but without all of the noise from bars and restaurants. Our basic room was clean with a comfortable bed. Pillows were lumpy though. Bathroom was dated but clean. Desk staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area was cute. I only have two ā€œcomplaintsā€ that I think are easily remedied by the hotel. 1) Our room (Billy Holiday 143) is next to a door leading to a hallway. While I didnā€™t mind hearing people, the door itself would SLAM closed. I think some foam or something to silence the door would be great for the people in that room. 2) Due to the double doors to the room, the doors have a slit that lets in the hallway light. A privacy curtain to pull over the door opening or other ā€œfilterā€ or ā€œfillerā€ would keep the light out and feel more secure. Looking for a clean room in a convenient location and this works.

Overall our stay was very good in a great location, I would more than likely recommend this place to friends etc. I found their credit card charges exorbitant and the response to emails didn't happen, it took an international phone call to get a response.

Wonderful place. Would definitely stay agin.

Lovely, historic, clean hotel right in the French Quarter. It was maybe half a mile from lots of food options, the French Market, the steamboat, Canal and Bourbon Streets, so great access to the good stuff, but the actual hotel was much quieter and cleaner than the heavily trafficked tourist areas. The beautiful fountain right outside our room was great for tranquil sleep. The stairs were a little steep, and I don't remember an elevator, so anyone with mobility concerns should ask lots of questions.

Old not rustic

Thereā€™s rustic and thereā€™s old. This place is old and poorly maintained. Mold on the shower grout and curtain. Dirt on the ceiling. Mattress needed replaced. Hardware was damaged or in need of repair. Perhaps other rooms were better. There was a $40 charge at check in for ā€˜amenitiesā€™. The saving grace was its location. Very good location for walking to everything in the French Quarter. The place has potential, but only after a lot of work.
