I had high hopes as I believe HdV market themselves as a luxury brand but I didn’t get that vibe during my stay. The solo member of staff on reception was dealing with someone else when I arrived. By the time they’d checked the couple in and showed them upstairs to their room and come back, it felt like an eternity after traveling a long way, needing a pee and feeling exhausted. The room was really nice, comfy bed, massive bathroom with underfloor heating and nice products, but the ceiling cobwebs were a distraction. I also really like the option to opt out of housekeeping and donate to a brain charity instead but overall, I’m still debating if it’s good value for money.
