What a brilliant find, we will definitely vusit this hotel again andxsoread the word amongst family and friends.
Room was unbelievable the decor, facilities and comfort top notch. The reception staff very friendky, informative and helpful. Our only complaint was it says 'free parking' but it didnt say its limited availability and the info aftervwe booked stated free parking this needs to be changed on the Hotels information, fortunately it wasn't a problem as there was parking nearby.
Value for money. Dog friendly think they were €3/4 each fantastic. Breakfast was about €10 really good value for cold buffet. Dated but clean room’s helpful friend staff Parking in the courtyard. Walking distance to the sea front, with bars and restaurants Fully recommend Value for money and dog friendly
Nice hotel in the town center, the view at breakfast was an impressive view on the harbor. Also from the room. The rooms weren’t very sound proof. The COVID initiatives were very clear. Sadly nothing is said to people not following them :(
Great location; clean, comfortable room, brightly lit bathroom.

Tired but superbly situated
The Hotel de Calais is superbly situated overlooking the harbour. We arrived at about 7.30 on an April evening and most of the parking spaces had been taken, but the receptionist quickly came out and said that we could park in the single garage so that was fine, since having read other reviews I had been a little worried about that. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and spoke English. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we had been given a room overlooking the harbour, which was a definite bonus. The hotel is certainly tired and in need of refurbishment but as a night stop on the way to the tunnel it was fine. Breakfast was as you would expect from a French hotel in this price bracket, although the young man in charge did offer to fry an egg for me, rather than the more usual hard boiled variety which I would usually expect. The only disappointment was that it was so misty the next morning that we couldn’t even see the harbour from our window, but I can’t blame the hotel for that!

Central hotel
Traditional hotel in excellent location overlooking the water. Room was clean if a little old fashioned. There are only about 17 parking spaces so my advise would be to arrive as early as possible .
Access to hotel and to car park not straight forward - difficult to contact as reception was closed on arrival just after 7pm! Hotel rather tired but OK. Basic breakfast, not worth the price but conveneint
Perfect overnight stop off on way to Calais ferry port!
Excellent dining at La Matelote restaurant on the harbour front.
Clean, well furnished rooms and good value breakfast buffet for €9
3rd visit, will return!
Fantastic location - couldn't have been better. Set in narrow cobbled streets backing onto the ancient cathedral with spectacular outlook over the harbour.
