Nature, Sea and amazing views at Mirador del Cañuelo

Overlooking El Cañuelo and the sea, in the Nature reserve at 1h from Málaga, El Mirador is an old authentic farmhouse that has been refurbished as a charming retreat for 2 to 4 people. The simplicity of the setting and equipment is the one of the old times, when the house would accommodate a whole family. Today, a beautiful and spacious bathroom has been added a few steps away.
The main house is made of one room separated in 3 spaces: living room, bedroom and kitchen. No unnecessary gadgets but all the basics that were in place over 100 years ago, with noticeable additions of WiFi, a washing machine - and of course electricity, running water, warm water, bathroom etc.
Therefore one can have the feel of how life has been here in those ancient times, when all subsistence came from the surrounding nature and sea.

At 800m, the gorgeous beach of El Cañuelo is a paradise for snorkelers and beach goers who want to move away from crowded touristic places.
At 15km, Nerja offers countless shops, supermarkets, typical and exotic restaurants, tapas bars and all services one might wish.
The neighbouring Nature Reserve of Sierra de Almijara offers unlimited possibilities for trekking, from a 1 hour walk to a whole day excursion. The area is known for its rich and diverse wildlife and spectacular landscapes. A drive to the springs of Rio de la Miel and Peña Escrita reveals gorgeous mountain sceneries.

The areas offer many activities: trekking, mountain bike, canoe, paddle surf, snorkeling, scuba diving, river trekking, horse riding, jeep excursions, tennis, golf at 20km and more. The region is very rich in culture, monuments and historical sites. The famous Caves of Nerja are at just 10km.

Within a half day or a day journey, a number of world famous landmarks can be visited: Granada and the Alhambra, Sevilla, Córdoba, Ronda, the Sierra Nevada, Almería and Gibraltar.
In short, a perfect place for a relaxing and inspiring holiday in the middle of a totally preserved natural environment.

Please note that the access is not asphalted all the way and might not be recommended for people with no experience at all of hilly areas, however is is accessible to all types of cars.
