La Maison aux Pierres Levées

Michel (born in the hamlet) & Geneviève open the doors of an authentic & very elegant traditional farmhouse of character from the 18th century, steeped in history & restored according to the rules of the art, nestled in the peace on the edge of a pasture welcoming in season peaceful lambs & ewes (without nuisance). Total tranquility in the heart of a typical rural mini hamlet, perfectly rehabilitated, nestled on the side of a south-facing hill exposed in the hollow of a delightful preserved setting of nature & greenery, on a vast "open" plateau of bucolic hedged meadows overlooking the verdant valley of the Grosne, backed by the wooded hills of the South Burgundy massif accessible a stone's throw away (many marked trails, to explore on foot or mountain bike during relaxing walks). A real little corner of paradise for young and old on the edge of the gentle rolling countryside of Haut Clunisois (protected territory in "Natura 2000 Zone" & ZNIEFF for its rich faunal & floral ecosystems). Absolutely revitalizing and enchanting setting & site. Splendid landscapes and panoramic view of the surrounding countryside with the Clunisois, Mâconnais & Beaujolais mountains in the background. Spacious, very comfortable cottage. Warm country character with contemporary accents enhanced by a magnificent wrought iron "spiral" staircase (from a 19th century chapel), as well as by the rich traces of the original building (stone walls, beams & reconstruction of the "dryer"). Lots of charm. Ultra cozy. Cocooning & cozy atmosphere. Large enclosed terrace (exposed & shaded), closed by the famous "standing stones" that gave their name to the house. Composition: Detached house on 2 levels. Electric heating (underfloor heating) + wood stove. Ground floor: kitchen, living room, separate toilet. 1st floor: 2 bedrooms (double bed 140x190cm / single bed 90x190cm), shower room (shower/toilet). Enclosed terrace (25m²) + private parking. Small shops 5.5 km. Small supermarket 10 km. Sumptuous panorama & landscapes! Authentic elegant traditional farmhouse of character from the 18th century, steeped in history & fully restored according to the rules of the art nestled in the peace and quiet in the countryside of Haut-Clunysois in a peaceful mini rural hamlet perfectly preserved, 10 km from the picturesque village of Matour labeled "Green Holiday Resort" ecotourism label dedicated to "nature" destinations (very many amenities including small supermarket & remarkable level of leisure facilities) & 15km from the illustrious city of Cluny abbey, spiritual heart of medieval Europe with the prestigious "European Heritage" label. Sublime rural & natural setting preserved by rolling groves covered with vast wild forests (partly classified as "Natura 2000 Zone" & ZNIEFF) overlooking the verdant Grosne valley in the hollow of the "Little Switzerland of Mâconnais" & the "Verts Vallons" of South Burgundy, facing the first foothills of the Beaujolais massif extending the sumptuous landscape jewels of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labeled "Grand Site de France" (located 27 km away). Prime location on the routes of the Romanesque churches circuit, several marked hiking trails in "green walks" (many hiking trails of the same type crisscrossing the area in the heart of nature to be explored on foot or by mountain bike) 9 km from the GR7, 16 km from the Green Way of the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" (& its remarkable "Tunnel du Bois Clair" accessible at 18 km, the longest former railway tunnel in France open to a Green Way with its 1.6 km) adjoining the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), 12 km from the famous GTM mountain bike route ("Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne" linked to a vast network of marked mountain bike trails crisscrossing the massif, labeled "VTT FFC") and around fifteen km from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais (including the famous "Val Lamartinien" named after the famous French poet born in the area) & of the "Burgundy Wine Route", not far from the Beaujolais vineyards (the first in the world to be labeled "UNESCO Global Geopark"). Prime location at the crossroads of Tournugeois-Clunisois & Charolais-Brionnais (cradle of the AOC cattle breed), both territories labeled "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire" and Mâconnais, all rich in sublime landscapes, an exceptional cultural heritage & renowned gastronomy. Ideal for exploring (RCEA access 5 km away): 6.5 km from "Lab71" (discovery center based on sustainable development & science), 7 km from the Pézanin arboretum (400 plant species on 25 ha around a bucolic fishing pond), 26 km from La Clayette, 28 km from Charolles, 32 km from Beaujeu (capital of Beaujolais), 32 km from Mâcon (Mâcon-Loché TGV station 28 km away), 38 km from the famous Touroparc Zoo animal theme park, 42 km from Paray-le-Monial (basilica of the "Sacré Cœur"). A soothing cocoon of charm for a refreshing "breath of fresh air", immersed in a real "postcard" setting!

Superbe gîte atypique. Très belle rénovation. Faite avec goût. Rien ne manquait dans les moindres détails. Les propriétaires sont très gentils et serviables.
