How is this place rated a 9.2? The pictures Expedia provides (I’m sure it’s fr the motel itself) do not reflect the condition of this motel. The corridor/balconies are filthy, there was an odour of stale moist air in the room, bathroom sink and tub drains do not drain properly. Went to front desk to inquire about the problem, apparently, he had to watch a video on how to rectify the issue. We cancelled the fix as it was already so late, and we were tired fr a day of driving. Kitchen floors & carpets were sticky. We found some mouse droppings on the floor….none of us slept a wink. I’m sure the staff are nice for the most part, but priority when looking for accommodations is cleanliness, and this was far from it. Super disappointed as we chose this place based on reviews and the pictures. If you’re in a pinch, sure, stay here, but be prepared for an uncomfortable experience.

Stay in room 106 and around 12:30am-1am person started a bath and could hear the water pipes so loud it sounded like it was in my room. It woke me up and everytime they added more water to their bath it would wake me up again I did record the noise for staff to check into it because it was so loud.

We had a late night stay at the Buccaneer Inn before leaving for Victoria in the morning and so happy we booked it. The room was well set up, parking and reception easily accessible to the room and the beds were extremely comfortable. Everyone was well rested after a long day and check out was simple. A lovely choice if you're staying in Nanaimo!

Older but very clean. Friendly staff. Beds were a bit soft so if you have back issues keep in mind. View of the marina but in a bit of industrial area. Good value!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Within the first 2 hours of my arrival the first time using the washroom facility flooded and they did not move me rooms. They also charged my card twice, one for the room charge and one for the damage deposit. To when I asked when I would receive my damage deposit back they did not provide me with an answer, they also stated they would give me a refund and have yet to issue that as well. I have reached out 3 times trying to get an answer or my money issued back to me and zero response from anyone. Terrible management, would not rec to anyone!!!!

property runs right along a main road , so early morning truck traffic to wake up to. no elevator, as all units open outdooor to stairs and walkways for each level, so carrying all belongings up those stair levels. room was clean, and did the job for the night. there was a convention in town so lodging choices were diminished and prices were running higher due to demand.

Room 105 suited me and my 2 friends perfectly and the price for 3 nights was great. The only snag was the TV was not working properly. By the second afternoon there was a work-around so we could watch the news, but still not able to change to regular channels despite all the wonderful help from the gentlemen in the office. Other than that the stay was great and having a full, well equippped kitchen was a real treat.

It was excellent to have a kitchen, a separate bedroom, and a great mattress for goid sleeping. Very nice towels and amenities in bathroom. Enjoyed the view of a nearby marina and island. Very friendly staff. Sofa was worn and had saggy, uncomfortable cushions. Otherwise a great room and we definitely would return.
