I’m sorry to say, we will never stay here again. Technically we still haven’t stayed because after checking in and finding a dead small cockroach on the bathroom floor, the shower curtain rod nearly falling out of the wall on us, the robe hook dangling off the wall, and the ancient slider door cracked open and hard to close, we booked another hotel and asked for a refund before we left. I’m usually not one to complain or write a bad review, and the standard of where we might stay is generally average for what you would hope for after paying $278 for a room to be close to downtown Mystic, CT. However, this was unfortunately not a place we felt safe or comfortable staying. Expedia was very helpful in assisting with filing my dispute and asking Howard Johnson for a full refund of our prepaid charge, but the man at the front desk was not helpful or at all apologetic. Whether we get the refund or not we were not staying there, and it was very inconvenient and unexpected based on the pictures. Don’t waste your money here.
