Reception staffs were friendly and accommodating and addresses my concerns right away. If you happened to book a room without AC, make sure to avoid the room facing the train station because in spite of closing the window, you can still hear the train coming and going and it is round the clock so you won’t have any rest at all. Electric fan does not really help during the summer months so you might consider booking a room with AC. It is not the fault of hotel but just be aware that AC is not a necessity in Europe unless it is during summer months. Overall, the customer service make up for these little inconveniences as well as the hotel being well maintained and clean.

Great stay at Excelsior by Geisel The room was clean and comfortable, and the location couldn’t be more convenient—just a 5-minute walk from the main train station. The on-site restaurant was very nice, but what stood out most was the bed—it was exceptionally comfortable. After a long day of walking and sightseeing, it was exactly what I needed for a perfect night’s rest. Highly recommend if you’re looking for both comfort and convenience in Munich!

Perfect central location and courteous staff. Accommodations were clean and comfortable although the green shag carpet could use a refresh. The area in front of the hotel appears tol be boarded up and going through transition, but would still recommend for easy access to Munich sites.

This is a beautiful hotel and the staff is gracious and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the bed is plush with lovely linens and the breakfast is elegant with great variety. There is even a fabulous restaurant on site, the Vinothek. This hotel is also conveniently situated near the train station and within walking distance of many sights. My only complaint—and it is a big one for a Munich summer—is that not all of the rooms have air conditioning. My room was boiling and opening the windows above the tram rails sounded like a roller coaster. The gracious staff brought me a fan but sleeping was difficult. A hotel this elegant should invest in air conditioning, since Europe, like the rest of the world sadly, is getting hotter.

The staff at this hotel are exceptionally helpful and attentive. We used the laundry service and it was quick and thorough. The breakfasts here were excellent as well. We had an adjoining room with our college aged sons and everything was clean and well appointed. Close to many transit options and walkable as well. We would definitely stay here again!

We actually ended up staying at this property more than once as we traveled around Europe and returned here before flying home. Their hospitality skills could not be beat, loved the location, convenient grocery store next door and just steps away from the underground/metro/Sbahn and trains. The funniest thing was waiting at the airport, we met lots of fellow travelers who had been in Munich for different reasons, multiple river cruise lines or roaming like we were, and several of us were talking about loving our hotel and turns out we had all been at this same Excelsior- those who hadn't were taking note because they wanted to keep it in mind for when they did their next trip in Munich, just turned out to be a happy coincidence. Rooms are spacious and having a mini frig was really nice.
