Excelsior was a great place to stay for my first time to Munich. Close to the train station and the city center, it makes for an ideal location to explore the city and the surrounding areas. I was disappointed I couldn't use my VIP benefit (the restaurant I could use my drink coupon was closed on Sunday and while I was available on Saturday I was too tired from my travels/busy doing things outside to realize I only had that night to utilize my coupon). Other than that the staff was friendly enough and the hotel was clean and equipped to serve my needs. I would've liked a more friendly and and inviting atmosphere (more staff interactions, amenities open to explore etc.) to make this an unforgettable experience, but what I got was good enough and for that I am thankful because Munich is definitely a city I would love to spend more time in, hopefully at Excelsior!

It was a nice stay. A very convenient location, comfortable room, quiet, clean. My only minuses were - the room, though nice, was in need of modernisation. To get a charger working, I had to crawl on my knees under the side table. Old bath- no show. But I managed, and may comeback. Was a good value for money. Breakfast - not exciting, with small choice, but all was fresh and nice service .

Hotel close to station which was a plus but too old school and outdated for me. Didn’t try the breakfast as it was very expensive. Probably wouldn’t choose to stay there again. Front desk staff very snooty.

We had a fabulous stay at Excelsior by Giesel. The staff were friendly and very happy to assist us. The hotel amenities were excellent. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was outstanding. We would definitely stay at Excelsior by Giesel again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good quality hotel in a convenient location.

Location is great. We could walk to all the places we wanted to see and eat in Munich. Breakfast here is amazing, too. Highly recommend this hotel!

A gem of a hotel!

Great hotel, staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and comfortable with all amenities you might expect. It feels like an hotel from old times, with the care and personal touch you don’t usually find in most modern hotels anymore. Easy to get around Munich as it is right by the main train station and walking distance to the main sites in town. Would definitely recommend this hotel
