Staff went out of their way to provide service. Valet staff provided a ride from the rental car garage for me as a mobility-challenged guest, as well as cart transport to my airline counter the next morning. Room service for breakfast was very professional.

The hotel itself is excellent, and the dining experience is truly outstanding. In my view, this is one of the best Fairmont properties in Western North America. However, the housekeeping standards require serious attention. During my stay, I noticed a significant buildup of dust behind bedside tables—far beyond what would be considered acceptable for a hotel of this caliber. I have photos documenting this. While I am not suggesting there is currently a pest issue, this level of oversight is exactly how problems like that can develop unnoticed. To be clear, I am a loyal Fairmont guest. I genuinely believe Fairmont is one of the best hotel brands available. My wife and I have even made a point of traveling across Canada staying at multiple Fairmont properties, including Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec City, and properties in Montreal. Closer to home, I frequently stay at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and Fairmont Empress on Vancouver Island—the Empress being a standout. Because of that loyalty, it’s disappointing to raise this concern about the Fairmont at YVR. This property is otherwise exceptional—the food, service, spa, and professionalism of the staff are all top-tier. It’s a place I genuinely enjoy staying. That’s exactly why the housekeeping issue stands out so strongly. At this level, cleanliness should be meticulous and perfect. I write this review with a heavy heart ❤️ (we're Fairmont people)!
