The rooms were kind of disappointing for the money. Nothing special! The property is beautiful though! If you need a ground floor make sure and ask at the office. I too for granted they would give us a ground floor because of our age but didn't.

Welcoming reception staff and lobby area nicely decorated with self serve coffee available. Although we stayed in room that allows pets, we were glad we didnt bring our dogs this time because fenced dog area outside our room had a big pile of debris...lumber, etc. which would be hazardous for dogs.

Know you aren't booking the resort

So, the photos of the lovely resort are apparently not what we booked through Hotels.com. This is disappointing because I would have stayed somewhere else if I knew I was going to be at the associated motel up the road. It was loud and old. I did like that the heater could dry whatever you put on it, which was nice for nights between the mountain. The main issue I had was that none of the menus that come up with the QR code we were given at check in match what the restaurant actually serves. Needing to drive to the restaurant rather than being on the property, I wanted to grab food to go and got everyone's order only to find none the menu matched what was served. Same with breakfast, meaning that the coupons for a breakfast discount were useless because anything we wanted wasn't on the menu anymore and the things that were there were basic with jacked up prices more than the discount. I travel to do lots of activities, so food is often a problem to be solved. We could have stayed closer to our activities for the same price with better food options on property. It was good that there was a nearby grocery store and a few restaurants.

The staff was nice and the room was good. It was about a 30-minute drive to Mt. Hood Meadows from the location. The restaurant on-site isn't the best and it is pricy. The location does not have a free breakfast, they give you $8 off for every adult that dines at the restaurant (yes, kids do not count and they will not accept the vouchers for kids, we tried). There are some local food options nearby but if you are staying for a bit and are tired of the local options, the next closest options are roughly 20-25 minutes away.

Mt. Hood Oregon Resort is a motel with some good and some bad features. The rooms are well-appointed, large, and have comfortable beds. Construction quality is somewhat cheap, with thin walls, unusually noisy cooling/heating units, and a bathtub (on the first floor) that backed up with sewage when the area received heavy rainfall. We informed the front desk, who assured us that the bathtub would receive a thorough cleaning, but the tub was not cleaned during our stay, quite surprising for what is potentially a serious heath issue. The location is okay for skiers, about 15 minutes away from Ski Bowl, 25 minutes from Timberline, and 45 minutes from Mt. Hood Meadows.
