Giant Oak Cabin - A perfect lakeside retreat

Cabin is somewhat dated, but it was clean and well taken care of, which is way more important to me! We were visiting family that have a cabin on Lake Minnewaska and the weather was wet and cool so we didn't get much chance to spend time outdoors. Some of my kids were able to fish off of the dock, which was very convenient! Beautiful backyard and quiet area.

Great place to stay! We were visiting a friend in the cute little town of benson and stayed one night.No front desk person but Easy instructions for check in and getting key. Only thing was the cleaning lady knocked on our door early in am to see if we had left yet. We were awake but if not I would have been super annoyed. I think they could use a better system than that for knowing when guests have checked out. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The check in staff member was very helpful. The room was a little small, but it had everything I needed. I did not see how to turn on the mini-fridge, so I didn't use it. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. I was happy that there was no scent of smoking inside the hotel.
