Very good

Room was small, and bathroom without shelving.
The main problem with Room 2 was that any movement from the floor above was audible - creaking floor boards, speech, flushing loo, shower - so loud further sleep was impossible. A clear need for more sound proofing.
Breakfast, incidentally, was excellent.
Beautiful carved wood paneling and furniture in spacious room. Lovely quiet village in the Cotswolds. Especially welcome after our 10 mile walk from Bretforton.
We had a wonderful stay in Blockley. The hosts were gracious and helpful and the food in the dining room was superb. I highly recommend the location for its charm, hospitality and historic significance.
Room was clean but few amenities, any room service beyond replenishing coffee had to be asked for. Desperately needs a gardener - bare beds mulched in slate and a few empty pots w/ dead weeds are hardly the English norm. Food did not exemplify the good, local, English meals we had elsewhere.
We loved our triple room, gorgeous view from the window.
The breakfast and the dinner we had in the restaurant was great, the bar was very quaint also.
We missed the last bus from Moreton in Marsh, but a phone call to The Crown and they helped us out with a pick up
The service was good. The food was good. The room however, was substandard. The carpet was very lumpy, as if there was no subfloor or underlayment flooring; and the carpet was directly on top of cobblestone. There were four steps up to the bath and tey
were uneven rise and run making nighttime navigation risky. The towels had large holes in them. the room was not serviced and when I asked, they said every other day unless requested. How would I know? There’s supposed to be a sign; there wasn’t. The hot water faucet leaked when used, all over the floor.
I should never have accepted this room!! Especially when I saw other rooms. We were two women and I really felt we got the short end of the stick!

Room for improvement
Arrived on curry night, which was delicious. Breakfast not great (Nescafé masquerading as filter coffee) under cooked bacon, over cooked egg. Staff are friendly and helpful. The whole place has something of the 1970s about it, the bed was not that comfortable and the headboard was not properly attached so that if you turn over in bed it bangs against the wall, giving the neighbours the impression that Ron Jeremy is on an all-nighter. Such a beautiful village. I’d say it’s good value, but could be so much better.

Lovely restaurant, breakfast and evening meals are very good, but rooms are a little tired. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful.
Excellent, very polite staff, superb small apartment in grounds rather than room in main building....it was quiet, clean & tidy, with the added benefit that I could park right outside of my room....
The staff at the Crown are friendly and are very polite. The pub serves very tasty food. The breakfast that was included in our stay was a full breakfast that was good. Blockley is a beautiful quiet village and we loved staying there. However; if you don’t have a car keep an eye on bus schedules and book taxis ahead of time
Nice quiet, comfortable hotel, good base to visit the villages and attractions round the area. Service was excellent, food was very good, both evening meals and breakfast.

Hotel and our room were clean albeit a bit tired and could do with a bit of TLC. We have a dog and this hotel is very dog friendly, ate an excellent meal in the bar in the evening and a nice breakfast in the dining room. Staff were excellent throughout, only downfall was the road up to the car park through an archway and then a very bendy narrow road upwards and the car park itself which could be challenging for some.
