I stay here several times a year while passing thru and love the facility. Convenient parking, nice furnishings, cottages are quiet and private. Location is fantastic- close to the coast. Every time, however, I try to either wash my face or shower and leave the hot tap on for a long time with no success - only room temp. Solution is to mix in hot water from the coffee machine!

We've stayed at this property before when we go to the Monterey Aquarium, so we were familiar with it already. It's in a nice, quiet location in walking distance to the beach and "downtown" Pacific Grove. This time we had a few issues, however. The room had a strange smell that was quite strong. We couldn't figure out where it was coming from. The shower faucet was very loose and it was difficult to get it to the right temperature. My husband used the stopper in the bathroom sink and it got stuck. At night there was a gurgling noise that we also couldn't figure out and the toilet kept running and making noise as well. The first night we did not get a good sleep due to these noises. The second night we were VERY tired from walking all day at the aquarium, so we were able to sleep more comfortably despite the noises.

Property looked quaint from the outside; yet, upon opening the door, this room was very outdated, smelled musty, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, had no air conditioning & the window opened up to a scary walkway and then a street on the other side of the fence - where people were coming and going all hours of the night. Not only was it hot in the room, I was scared to death and did not sleep at all that night.

Tiny room

Tiny Room---maybe smaller than a cruise ship room (350 Sq ft)! But, it was sufficient for one night. Queen bed was comfortable. Although the marketing pictures on this site show "wonderful" things like a much bigger room with a kitchenette, more floor space, a golf course, etc., be cautioned about this. The "Inn" is a no-frill small room with little wow-ness.

Overall a good place. Came here back in 2015. Maybe I’m wrong,but they had AC back then. No AC anymore so if you sleep hot,maybe not the place for you during summer nights. Had to sleep with 1 window open and fan on high. But that’s just me because I run hot no matter what. We had an ant problem in the bathroom and kitchen top. When we told the front desk,their reply was “I heard windex can help” as if we were expected to drive out to a store and get windex. About 5 min later,they came to our room with raid and windex. Still saw a few ants after that. Overall we enjoyed the stay

The property is beautiful. Theo, in the front office was great! Warning, unless you ask for cleaning services, you will not receive them including toilet paper. You must ask the night before. I went to the office when Theo wasn’t there and asked for toilet paper and a change of towels only…..no cleaning or bed making. Nothing was replaced. I went to the supermarket to get toilet paper as we arrived back after the office closed. I didn’t like that. Anne

I want to start by saying the staff was helpful and friendly. The property was inviting, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The issue was the sound control. We stayed with our two young children who have a hard time sleeping in new places and the noise was unlike anything we've experienced staying in other hotels in this area. The pipes were loud, every footstep from upstairs thundered through our room. We heard the people talking next door as though they were in the room with us, the drunken argument upstairs, and the passionate couple across the way. This may have been just unfortunate placement as it seemed there were only two buildings with an upper floor, but the fact that we could hear everything around us so clearly made for a really difficult few nights of sleep. We never felt unsafe on the property, it was just a really emotional, stressful trip where we really needed to rest at the end of the day and just couldn't.
