Walked into the room, there was literally a piece of tissue stuck into the peep hole that was DIRTY. There holes in the wall, chipped paint, the floor was dirty, the towels had stains on them. The toilet paper wasn’t in the holder bc the toilet paper holder was broken. And lastly, the smoke detector was taken out of the wall and hidden in the bathroom drawer.

Yes, they were dog and cat friendly. Plus they charged half of what other hotels were charging. The room was clean with a refrigerator and microwave. They AC worked perfect. Plus free parking. My only thought would be that it'd be nice if they had grab bars in bathtub/shower.

The room was super clean and the staff were super amazing. For the time being at Monterey car week it was nice because it was quite and away from the madness.

The tv did not work at all. The shower didnt drain and spilled out on the floor. It was a shower, only no tub and before I knew that it was not draining. I have soaked up and had to rinse myself with a cloth from the sink or I would just have flooded the whole bathroom. The microwave did not have a plate in it. It had burns. It had peeling paint. It was terrible. I hate giving bad reviews. If it’s something small, I don’t say anything, but they should not have rented out this room. I really should get some money back on this one.

There was no blow dryer. No hooks to hang anything in the bathroom. The bathroom also needed safety grab bars to avoid slipping.The bathtub/shower combination needs a non-skid floor to avoid falling/slipping. Continous issuess with the TV non working.

Monterey Fireplace Inn has no in-room fireplace

Check in was easy, although my friend and I couldn't split the bill, I had to put it on the "authorized" card, then my friend paid his half via venmo. Parking as good and VERY well lit. Room was pretty small with a nice bathroom with no water pressure. AC was slightly effective. I can put up with a lot, so I would say this is a solid 3 out of 5.
