Staff was helpful and pleasant. Room had no way to regulate the AC/heat so it was chilly in the room the whole time. Tv was not working and some lights didn't work. Shower was good and hot. Walls were not sound proofed very well, so you hear everything, cars, birds, people. Having to walk outside to get tho the breakfast room was not ideal. Otherwise the stay was ok.

THE GOOD: 4th floor view. Seagull cries at dawn (seriously—I love it). Proximity to downtown/the wharf/walkability. Fantastic bathroom with lots of counter space and deep tub (amazing). Great water pressure in the shower. Lots of room/living area/kitchen—quite spacious, and loved the deck. THE BAD/UGLY: The “living room” area smelled strongly of puke. Not “a whiff” or “oh maybe, is that..??” Like, unmistakably, undeniably strong. So strong I had to keep the windows open all night (in January). There were ants in the kitchen nook, even in the microwave. If I was planning to stay more than 1 night, I would have asked to change rooms but by the time I got all my stuff up to the 4th floor, moving just seemed like a hassle. (And honestly, dealing with the receptionist seemed like it would be an ordeal in and of itself, customer service didn’t seem to be her strong suit.) Note to the hotel staff—room 418 needs a deep cleaning and probably a carpet steam.

Needs maintenance. Broken elevator. WiFi was down for whole stay. Sunday breakfast had nice selection but Monday was just very limited like cereal and bagels. I’m concerned they are not investing in maintaining property and are cutting back on breakfasts.

So much to say. At check-in, the front desk attendant was typing on the computer, and did not make eye contact or address us for about 2 minutes, even though she was not helping others. She was not friendly at all. Once we were helped, we were notified of the $50 pet charge, which we were not aware of at booking. We were personally shown to our room, and we realized later that there was no room number on our door or outside wall, making it difficult to find the room later. The lock was fussy, and took a lot of finesse to unlock with the key. Once we were in bed, we realized that our room (105) was directly adjacent to a maintenance/ laundry room, and we could hear loud voices and bumping and clanking noises that kept us awake into the late night. The shower was incredibly difficult to navigate, and nearly impossible to keep at a comfortable setting, risking scalding. No bath mat was provided for the floor, creating a slip and fall risk. We will definitely not return.
