Replaced the refrigerator that was freezing everything even though turned off - adjusted the heater that wouldn't adjust for us. Love the ambience from the fireplace.

Room was okay--slightly run down, but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast could definitely be improved. One of the staff talked down to me at check-in, but the other was very nice at check-out (though she'd clearly been having a loud and contentious argument with another staff member in the back room as I walked into the office). We've stayed at this hotel probably a dozen times over the years, but I'm not sure we'll be returning.

We arrived to the property at 3:15 for check-in and walked into the office to see a sign saying they will be right back. Waited a few minutes before flagging down housekeeping to come to find out that office staff left the premises during check-in hours. We waited for them to return, and that took 45 min. When the man arrived he offered no explanation so myself and the other guests waiting questioned why we had to wait. The male staff gaslighted his guests saying that we where late and he had to leave. He was very condescending, not apologetic or had any customers service etiquette. The male staff treated the next guest checking in even worse questioning him and not holding himself accountable for the bad service. When we finally received our room, we walked into an unlocked open room, dirty and not ready. This added to the frustration and we had to go back to the front desk. The male staff still remained unbothered and without wanting to make things right. This added another 30 minutes to our check-in. The male staff’s attitude and bad demeanor made us not feel safe staying with our children. We asked for an early checkout the next day and a refund to which a different staff member verbally agreed to, but then the property declined the refund through Expedia. We will never book thru Best Western Inn and never recommend the Inn & Suites in Pacific Grove.
