Unsafe

We checked into this hotel for the night to attend a nearby concert. We were given a room that was right on the street side, only one floor up from the ground. Windows were covered with dirty and falling apart curtains. The bathroom had a window that overlooked an alley and there were people constantly out in the alley. They could see directly into our room if the curtains were not closed. The room was absolutely filthy and outdated. There were wires hanging out in the bathroom radiator. There was a truck parked outside of the hotel with its back windows blown out and seemed to abandoned. We did not feel safe staying at this hotel. We returned our room keys after 10 min of checking in and explained to the clerk that we would not be staying. She said we would not be charged but we most definitely were.

An oasis of comfort in Milwaukee. Check it out!

Hey, it looks like a dingy out of the way place. But the staff there is top notch. I arrived late (2:30am) due to flight delay, and the staff was alert and quick to help me get settled in. The room was a very generous suite with a king bed and a separate room for office work. I didn't need that, but I appreciate the spaciousness. There's also free breakfast. While it wasn't 3-star michelin level, it was made at the hotel, tasty, and oh, did I say, "free"? And lastly, there's the bar that opens from around 7pm until 2am. Mai, the bartendress, made a nice margarita for me the first night, and a wonderful martini the second. And the prices for the drinks are ridiculously low. Check it out. Worth a stay. The room was very nice. Smart and modern looking. The bedside stand has an induction charging for your mobile device, in addition to many sockets to fit your plugs for all your recharging needs. Thoughtful and convenient. (Other places require you to go hunt down the outlets behind the 300lbs bed frame, you know what I mean.)

The staff was very nice but the hallway smelled of mildew, the ice machine was so loud, shower had no hot water, toilet would run intermittently and the beds had noisy metal frames.

I did not feel particularly safe in this neighborhood with my daughter. A bunch of neighbors eyeing us as we came in. Right across the street from government housing. The cops got called on a family right during check in for breaking a car window parked out front. The staff were great, and the suite was a good size. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Definitely needs some updating, parts of the floor in the room were cracked, and there was a hole in the door where I could see directly into the hallway and vice versa. It was loud til about 1am. Affordable, but I’ll pay more to be in a safer location.

The A/C was out for 2 nights. There was no other rooms available nor were they willing to switch us. Everytime someone flushed the toilet our room would hear a loud bang from the bathroom wall. We stayed based on previous reviews, but this suite was not worth the money.

They verbally agreed to give us another night on the phone(in our room) then, without contacting us, gave our room away and threw our stuff in a corner. The manager said that he was going to help us get a discounted rate at another hotel and then didn’t. He never called me back or offered any compensation. Complete BS. Sadly, the staff liked us as we had great interactions with all of them. They were just as upset. One cried. Another offered us a room in their home. It was truly sad and upsetting for everyone because of their manager, who wasn’t even there on arguably their busiest weekend of the year. Thumbs down and I should get a refund. Especially after waiting 2 hours at the bar for the manager to show up. Pathetic.
