Excellent location, short walk to Insurgentes metro and all sorts of bars, restaurants, nightlife. Between the hotel & Insurgentes is an amazing cafe pickup window - no seating but strong coffee and some pastry/sandwich options.
This is a no-frills stay, not even a mini fridge or microwave (my fault for not checking). We found the bed a bit small, if you are sizeable, consider a room with 2 beds. The shower had excellent pressure and was plenty hot. There's a lot of traffic noise if you're facing the main road - the windows have slats at the top that open for circulation that don't block out the noise.
The person who checked us in failed to give us the WiFi password (as foreigners we didn't have cell service) and didn't explain the room safe/lockbox that you have to put 500 peso deposit to get a special lock and key. Not a big deal but it was confusing if no one explains how it works - we should have used Google Translate to communicate.
The overall feel is a very dated hotel, the carpet is long past due for a change. It's clean and a safe location, good if you intend to explore the city but not the best choice if you plan to spend a lot of time in the room.
