This property is less than 2 blocks from the Zocalo and approx 1/2 mile from Palacio de Bellas Artes. In a very walkable neighborhood with plenty of local food options. Through the lobby there is an entrance to the Starbucks around the corner making my morning coffee super convenient!! This is my 3rd stay at this property and it doesn’t disappoint! Due to the location there is always lots of police presence so a very safe area.

Early check inn

The standard quality of service in lMexico is excellent pretty much everywhere, you can say that service is great to fantastic. This was not the case at NH Histórico. Or at least was the receptionist at the counter to be more specific. Got there early and the room was available for an extra fee for early check in. I find this to be a terrible policy and personally this practice would definitely affect my choice for future. Of course I complained at this policy and I received a rude and sarcastic answer.

We were approved by the hotel management in writing to be released early with refund due to medical emergency (see hotel letter attached). However, several weeks after the hotel had refunded us the used portion, it then ate its own words and recharged us the refunded portion! It is a clear breach of agreement and honor, and we are pursing all appropriate channels to have the hotel honor its own words and refund us. On top of this experience, we have to say that while the staff are friendly, the hotel is located in a somewhat messy area, and the breakfast had little to offer.

I was pleased with this property. There were no bells and whistles but it served its purpose of a clean, nice place to stay with a comfortable bed and centrally located. Location was definitely a plus!
